Release: January 6, 2015
Wyatt Banks is ready to give one woman the world. Unfortunately, his job as a cop tends to interfere with other goals. When Wyatt is sent deep undercover to investigate a sex slave ring, he doesn’t have time to do anything but focus on staying alive in a dark and dangerous underworld.
Wyatt isn’t alone though in his quest to save the women that are being sold into sexual slavery.
His partner, FBI Agent Andrea Somerville, is immersed just as deeply as he is, and she’s the bait to lure the sex slavers out into the open, as she poses as an erotic dancer in an attempt to snare the enemy. But danger runs as high as the sparks between them, and now Wyatt is caught between the job he loves and the woman he wants.
With a Twist can be read as a stand-alone novel.

What a fabulous book!
This was a fast and engaging read. Sawyer Bennett has me hooked and I’ll
definitely be reading more from her!
With a Twist can be read
as a standalone, however it is the 4th in the Last Call series. Let me just
say, I have already purchased the first three to go back and read!
The plot for the book is
intense. Wyatt is sent undercover to expose a group involved in the sex trade.
That alone gave the book a darker side, being such an intense subject. However,
what was more difficult was seeing what who and what Wyatt was forced to become
in order to prove himself and move up in the ranks. Sawyer does a great job of
feeding the reader empathy so that we don’t begin to dislike Wyatt. Especially
with his, “I do whatever it takes” attitude. She makes it clear how difficult
this is for Wyatt and what a good guy he is, without going overboard. He is
human and not the perfect hero. She could have easily taken it too far and
Wyatt wouldn’t have been believable. I also appreciated the fact that he was so
open to love. Sometimes, the hero who fights against love can get a little old.
It balanced the cop side of him.
In the beginning, Andrea
is a tough nut to crack. It took me a little bit to warm up to her. However,
she didn’t have the same upbringing and close group of friends as an adult that
Wyatt does. This has made her more distant and distrustful. She shares the
“whatever it takes” attitude with Wyatt, but I wasn’t as accepting of it from her.
Especially when it came to giving her body to the man in charge. If Sawyer had
taken the story down that road, I might have walked away. However, as the book
goes on, I liked Andrea more and more. I was actually very surprised that she
ended up being the one with the courage when it came to their relationship. After
her experience with her ex-fiancé, that was completely unexpected. It was smart
on the part of the author because from that moment, I was firmly in Andrea’s
corner.
Watching their relationship
blossom is sweet and the fact that neither was doing everything they could to
avoid an entanglement made me enjoy the ride. Wyatt’s friend’s fiancĂ© annoyed
the crap out of me though. She’s super pushy and rather obnoxious about it.
We’ll see if I like her more after I’ve read her story. His other friends were
fun supporting characters and they added foundation to Wyatt and Andrea’s
relationship because Andrea had never had what Wyatt has in his life, friends
and family that are close and can be counted on.
The ending was great and
left me with a big old smile on my face. I love a good HEA! Sawyer has made me
a fan and I can’t wait to read more from her!
