This an erotic love story with a
BDSM lifestyle woven with a bit of suspense. I liked the characters and
was intrigued by them. The blurb made me interested in the story, but I'm
on the fence on how to rate it.
On the outside it looked like
Sandra had it all in high school...the looks, the popularity. But Sandra
has not had a good life...running away to New York to escape a painful upbringing
only to run again from her abusive/stalker Dom. She arrives back in
Arizona and is looking for a new experience. She goes to Club Desire to
find a new Dom. She hasn't really experienced to much into the lifestyle,
but she is very interested. Will she find herself in the same predicament
or will she find what she's been looking for?
Brent has turned his life and looks
around since high school. He is the master/owner of Club Desire...the
hottest BDSM club in the Southwest. When this beautiful woman is asking
to see him, he's shocked that it's Sandra. He has had a crush on Sandra
since high school and now she is at the club seeking membership....only she
doesn't know who he is. His dream girl is right in front of him, will he
reach out and grab it? Or will his secret identity stay secret?
Remember secrets always have a way of coming out...
The connection between them starts
off right from the start. Both are very interested in each other, but
with the previous experience Sandra had Brent realizes he needs to be slow and
gentle. He wants nothing more than to protect her, to show her how a real
Dom should take care of her and to make her his, He also has a big secret.
He doesn't want to scare her away and he's afraid that when the past and
present combine, she'll run again or end up dead. Will Sandra forgive
him? Will her abusive Dom find her and make her pay?
I am still wobbling on the rating.
On one hand I enjoyed the story, but then other it fell a little flat for
me. I just felt it was rushed at times and The kink wasn't enough for me,
it needed just a little more. Now I'm not saying it wasn't good because
it was, just didn't completely grab me. The suspense part of the story
was good and the second chance love story was lovely. I hope the series
continues because I would like too see where the author takes it. Still
not sure...3.75-4 Stars.
