This
book was a steamy, second chance love. I love how Lauren made these characters
both play hard to get and then all the sudden they realize that they need to
follow their feelings. This book flowed really quickly for me and I got lost in
it in no time.
Cara and Travis have a past together that neither one of them can forget or get out of their mind. Travis has always said that he is not the relationship type and keeps his relationships to one night stands or just for convenience. When Cara and Travis meet again after being away from each other for a while, all their feelings for each other suddenly hit them both in the face. Cara has made an agreement with Travis that she will help to train his new dog for the Fireman's Bachelor Auction coming up in two weeks. Travis and Cara made an agreement that since they could not deny the sparks that were still flying between them that they would do what they wanted to for 2 weeks before the auction. Cara and Travis are doing their thing every which way and whenever they can find two seconds to be with each other. Cara starts to develop stronger feelings for Travis but it is always in the back of her mind that he does not do relationships. Travis is also developing stronger feelings for Cara but know that he can't let himself fall for her because that is just not him.
When their 2 week agreement is up, both Cara and Travis are not ready for their time together to end. Cara goes all out and puts her feelings for Travis out there so that he knows how she really feels. This scares Travis and he is not sure what to do. When it is time for the auction, Cara is fuming mad at Travis because of his behavior. What Cara doesn't know is what Travis has done to ensure that he doesn't go on a date, except with Cara.
