Synopsis: The Winter Lord is a man like no other. He rules the world together with the Summer Lady, the Autumn Lord and the Lady of Spring. That alone says that the Winter Lord is the wrong man to fall in love with, but Dawn loves him anyway.
The last thing Dawn expects is to be placed inside the Winter Lord's prison because of a minor dispute. When he visits her and asks her to marry him, Dawn knows that nothing will ever be the same again. Her entire world is put into a spin, but soon, she realizes that things aren't as they should be. The Winter Lord is hiding something, and when the truth is revealed, she understands that only one thing can save her life ...
Love.
This is a passionate and erotic love story for adult readers. It takes place in a magical fantasy world where the Elders rule the seasons.
What people are saying about Winter's Bride....
"This is the lyrical, romantic and erotic story of two very interesting people, from two very different worlds. Can they bridge the gap between his reality and hers? Can love be the force that binds two people and changes two worlds forever? Can this awesome force change centuries-old traditions and culture?
This is a wonderfully magical evocation of how two lives can come together and change destiny itself and it will keep you turning the pages to see what becomes of Dawn and her love for Audren and what it is that he feels for her ... the very forces of nature combine to weave this story of profound love in a tapestry of magic, intrigue, and passion." - Jennifer K. Review - 4 Stars
I loved the cover, it's beautiful.
I'm not a big fan of sci-fi/fantasy, but this book didn't read too much
like one, it's there but not overbearing. It was intriguing and the
characters were really good. First time reader for this author, and she
hooked me.
The Season Elders of Evermore:
Summer lady, Autumn Lord, Winter Lord, Lady of Spring are all
immortals protectors of the town of Evermore. The people of the town
honor each season elder with decorations and a feast to celebrate the change of
the seasons. They are not someone you mess with or fall in love with....
Winter Lord is striking with
long white blue hair, tall, muscular and blue eyes. His name is Audren.
His family is the royal house of De'vier, the masters of Winter.
He was sent to Evermore along with the other Elders to help the world
blossom and have balance. He's lonely and sad. But soon he finds
something that intrigues him and he wants them by his side, even if it's just
for a bit....Dawn. She's creating feelings he's not sure how to
understand....is it love?
Dawn is woman from Evermore who
lives a simple life with her family. She had a good life, but she also
was bored and unhappy. She wanted something more, a change, but her
mother wanted her home. So she stayed and cleaned, no other job for her,
no other life for her. The only thing she looked forward to was soon upon
the town...Winter. Dawn loved autumn, but winter was her
favorite. She loved theWinter Lord and couldn't wait for Winter to
take over. It was beautiful and allowed her to get glimpses of him.
She was fascinated by him and yearned for him. But he knew
nothing of her, he never would because she knew her love was doomed.
However, that didn't stop the intense feelings or sparks she felt when
she thought about him. Would she ever meet him? Would her feelings
ever die?
A chance encounter brings Dawn and
The Winter Lord together. He's intrigued by her and she senses
loneliness in him. With the brief encounter this only intensifies Dawn's
longing for him, which is not good. The Elders are to be respected not
lusted after. He is a weakness for her, but how can she stop her
feelings? When he comes to her again and asks her to be his bride,
she's unsure. It's everything she wants, but something feels off.
What is it?
Things start being explained that
confused me a bit, but yet were very interesting. The whole soul thing
was intriguing. Audren decides to make Dawn his bride. He
needs her, however, there are some secrets being kept from Dawn. How will
she react when she finds out?
The connection between them was
sweet, but you weren't sure if Audren was acting or was truly loving her.
Being as he is of the wintersroyals he is unfamiliar with love.
Caring, gentleness and kindness he knows, but love not so much. He
didn't know what it was, but he could act like it. Is it true or an act?
Will guilt get to him? Will he realize to late?
I enjoyed this book, but as I said
I did get confused a few times trying to understand their backgrounds.
The characters are enjoyable, a little funny, and quirky. The
sexual encounters between Dawn and Audren are steamy and good....there's a
gentleness to them, maybe love really is there.
If you like this genre you will enjoy
this book. If you don't like this genre you will enjoy this book.
It doesn't read like a sci/fi fantasy read, the author blends it
all so wonderfully together. This was a fantastic love story and a
definite surprise read for me. The other characters are engaging and I
ended up really liking Onyx....there is a story within him. Actually,
they all have stories that interest me. 4 Magical Stars!
