"Sometimes the best kind of life and
love comes after falling"
I
enjoy Alyssa's books, but I've really only read her PNR series' This was a nice
change and a wonderful little gem of a book.
Cassidy
has lost it and needs out, so she up and quits her life. She quits
her fiancée, quits her horrible job and runs home to her parents. She
needs to find a new direction and find some happiness.
Leo
is a bit of a mystery. His background isn't talked about right when we
meet him, but I knew there was more to him than his sweet, funny side.
What
a wonderful story of learning to find the best in yourself. For
looking for something that can bring you a calm and happiness. This was a
sweet and captivating read. I felt as they were getting to know each
other I was right there with them. The dialogue was so free and flowed
nicely. The banter between was funny and it gave chills a few times.
It's like that first time you meet a guy and you just know...you get
butterflies, smile and are giddy! As we learn more about Leo and his own
struggles I honestly fell more in love with him. He was just as scared as
Cassidy with life and I felt that these two were exactly what each
other needed. They could understand and relate to each other. It
was perfect!
"We've seen the sunset and the
sunrise together." I smiled
"We have, now comes the hard
part."
"What's that?"
"Spending more time in between them
together."
I
adored this book and I would love more of them. I didn't give it 5 stars
because I don't feel there story is done. It all started with a little
cassette tape that changed the lives of two people forever!
Things happen when you least expect it... 4.5 Trusting Stars!

Excerpt: "Can I look?" I gestured to the movie collection he had piled next to the massive TV. "Sure." He walked over to the kitchen counter and put down his keys, wallet, and phone. I liked that he put down his phone. It meant he was all there with me. I’d worked hard to break my own addiction to technology. "Quite the collection." My eyes ran over the titles. "I've picked up a few over the years." "What's your favorite?" I kneeled down to see them better. "You can't ask me that." "Why not?" I raised an eyebrow. "Because I don't have one favorite. Each category is different." "But no overarching favorite?" "Not for movies, but I do for music. Movies are like food while music is like women." "Uh, do I want to know what that means?" "Movies each have different purposes for me. Some make me laugh, some make me think. Some are entertainment. Like food. How can you compare a burger with a slice of cake? They serve different purposes.” "Got it, but why is music like women?" "Music has one purpose. To move someone. I can pick one favorite. The same goes for women. Who needs variety if you can find everything in just one?" Words had never turned me on so much. "That's an interesting way to view things." "It works." I stood up. "But what if you never find one thing that has everything you need? Do you keep searching?”
