Review - 5 Stars
I hate to see
the Hard Ink series end, but if it’s going to, this was sexy, sweet way to say
goodbye. Although, for the characters, it’s really the beginning. I don’t
recommend reading this without having at least one book in the series.
This novella catches up with all the characters from
the Hard Ink series, however the focus is Nick and Becca, the couple from book
1. The danger has finally passed and they are free to live their lives, right?
For Becca and Nick, the way to start off this new
chapter in their life starts with getting married. As plans progress, dangers
from the past creep up again and threaten the path to happiness that they are
on.
It’s not easy to throw suspense and action into a
novella without it feeling too rushed or not complete. Granted, the majority of
the story is set from the previous books, even so, Laura does a great job
giving us a complete story in such a short book.
The novella is hot as hell, too. Not surprising
considering the rest of the series burns off the pages. Despite being bummed
that the series is ending, this novella was a great way to wrap it all up. It’s
like an extended epilogue, but with a little more story. And, let’s face it,
the epilogue is always my favorite part!
If you’re a fan of the Hard Ink series, you’ll love
this little gem!
