Review- 4 Stars
I did not have the chance to read the first two books in this series but I was not lost in this one as I read it. There are parts of the story that I wish I would have had read the other two books for but I was not totally lost at any point.
Kin has been dealt a crummy hand in her life now and she is having to make some major adjustments. Kin's mother suddenly became ill and passed away so now she has been forced to go live with her father and step mother along with their kids. Kin's step mother is the worst, perfect picture of the evil step mom! She is two faced and will give the media one side of her and turn around and treat Kin horribly. She also uses Kin to help get her daughter's some media face time and blames Kin for everything that goes wrong with her daughter's, even when she has nothing to do with it.
At Kin's new school, she quickly meets Lucy. Lucy is sometimes pushy, but Kin really likes her and sees that they are going to be great friends quickly. Lucy takes Kin to her friend, Heath's new bar to help her get away from the horrible home life she has now. What would you know that Kin's ex, Jace that dropped her like a hot potato when her mom got sick and she needed him the most, was there singing in the band that was performing at the new bar that night. Kin thought that her days with Jace were over. Jace chose to go with the band that he is there with instead of being there for Kin when she was dealing with one of the hardest things in her life. What would make Kin want to give him the time of day now?
Little does Kin know that Jace has had to live with the regret of leaving her behind since they broke up. Will Kin ever be able to trust Jace again or will the go their separate ways?? I don't want to give anything away because you need to read this story for yourself. All while Jace and Kin are trying to figure things out, Lucy and Harris's relationship gets more and more complicated. This story will definitely keep your attention and have you wondering how thing will end for the crew!
I have to say that the characters were very well developed in this story and came with plenty of their own baggage to deal with. Terri Anne Browning did very well with this story and I can't wait for the next book in the series!
