This book.
I loved this freaking book. Meghan Quinn has written something that is so incredibly wonderful that I don’t think I will be able to fully describe just how absolutely amazing it was. I thought that Stroked was the shit, but Stroked Long? Freaking phenomenal!
Ruby and Bodi … sigh. They couldn’t be more different, but that’s what makes them so perfect for one another. Ruby is bright and colorful and all over the place. Bodi is all white and clinically clean with a rigid personality and OCD anxiety. I truly felt for Bodi. He has so much emotional turmoil in his past that he is letting dictate his future, and it’s heartbreaking. He can be very awkward as he hasn’t really had any relationships before, so everything with Ruby is completely foreign to him. I don’t think there was any way that I couldn’t love him. He was just… perfect. Broken, but perfect.

As Ruby and Bodi’s friendship starts and evolves into something more, Ruby doesn’t know the extent of Bodi’s issues because he hides them from her. She doesn’t understand that aspect of him, so when he reacts out of the norm she is able to help him, but at the same time doesn’t know when she pushes his limits. Theirs was an unexpectedly highly emotional relationship, full of many ups and downs.
It doesn’t help that Bodi is a swimmer training for the Olympics in Rio, and Ruby is trying to make ends meet with her art job and just got a second job with the horribly atrocious Bellini Chambers. (Side note: Looovvvveeedddd the reaction to Bellini’s attitude and ridiculous demands in this book! We got to see aspects that we weren’t able to in Stroked and I was sooo happy! She is the freaking worst!) Bodi and Ruby are still learning each other and with Bodi the way that he is and as this is his first real relationship, there was bound to be turmoil. Theirs ended up being slightly worse than other couples out there, but they were able to persevere and get their HEA.
In between Ruby and Bodi’s emotional journey, we still got to experience Meghan Quinn’s utter ridiculousness. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, I have no idea how she comes up with this shit! It is so over the top ridiculous! I love it and laugh constantly while reading her books. I felt that Ruby was a little bit of Meghan while I was reading.
“That should be an Olympic sport: Sausage stuffing… It starts with a line of flaccid penises, the gun goes off and it’s a race to see who can not only get erect first, but who can stuff their sausage in a pair of Spandex and then do twenty jumping jacks without their penis flying out. I would one hundred percent watch that.”
How does she even come up with that??? Ruby was so utterly awesome. Bodi was absolute perfection in a damaged kind of way. I fell completely in love with him, but the both of them together? I can’t even begin to explain the rightness of it all. I am looking forward to Stroked Hard, but I don’t think that Meghan Quinn will be able to top this book. Stroked Long is officially my favorite of anything that she has written, and I’ve just about read all of hers. This book… is the shit.

About the Author:
Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if "It's Raining Men" starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.
Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing... enter her first novel, Caught Looking.
Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife.
