I loved so many things about this book!!! After reading No
Pants Required (doesn’t need to be read before this), I couldn’t wait for
Maggie’s story. She and Keen are a charismatic, magnetic couple, pulling you into
the story and keeping you glued to the pages. It’s not a suspense novel and
yet, I felt like the action was always moving, even in the slow and tender
parts. It was fun, sweet, and unbelievably sexy.
Maggie is full of so much life, she just jumps right off of
the pages. She’s smart, funny, super quirky, loyal, and loving. I wanted her to
be my friend, my sister, my co-worker, etc. Even her little bouts of over-dramatics
didn’t bother me.The hurt she suffered as a kid has made her cynical, but I
think on some level, even she knew that she was lying to herself when she said
she didn’t believe in love. I loved watching her recognize it and accept it.
Keen. That name alone with always seem like a deliciously
dirty word. Keen is oozes sex from his looks to his sexy voice, but holy cow,
his filthy mouth will ruin your panties. I might even suggest you read this
without them… He is also intelligent and a hard worker, a great friend and
brother. However, he certainly sports the ego of Texas, lucky for him, it only
makes him hotter. I loved that he adapted to situations so quickly. He wasn’t
without his hang up and struggles in accepting what was between him and Maggie,
but I felt like he got there a little faster than she did.
The power struggle between these two was freaking intense.
Both of them craved complete control and yet, somehow, they managed to find
what worked for them. And when they did, fireworks went off, fires raged,
ovaries exploded…
I truly enjoyed this book, loved every second of it. It was
well-written and polished. This author knows how to tell a great story with developed,
awesome characters. I’ll definitely be adding this to my re-read shelf!
