My best friend is married.
Everyone I know is married. It doesn’t bother me.
I like my life the way it is.
Since I’m single though, when my best friend and her husband finally decide to go on their dream honeymoon, she asks me to watch their three-year-old son.
Of course I say yes.
What my best friend neglects to tell me is that I won’t be babysitting alone.
Feeling Max might be too much for me to handle, her husband asks his only single friend to help.
Nick Carrington and I have met a couple of dozen times. I’ve never really given him a second thought—other than to say he’s kind of a jerk. Out loud. So he can hear. Sure, he’s tall, dark, and handsome. And yes, he has the best ass I’ve ever seen, and I mean ever seen quite literally. You see he mooned me at last year’s Fourth of July barbecue because, like I said, he’s a jerk.
He always has to be the life of the party.
He’s also arrogant.
Imposing.
Rich.
And a playboy.
I’d even go as far as to say he’s a manwhore.
Yet somehow before I know it, this manwhore and I are co-parenting. Living under the same roof. Eating meals together and yes, talking.
Don’t look at me like that—it’s not like I had a choice.
Even though I knew every minute would be hell, I had to say yes.
But after two weeks what I didn’t expect is that I’d been wrong about him.
That under his smart-ass exterior, he’s quite charming.
That his arrogance is actually confidence.
And that the sight of his naked body would do really bad things to me.
So yes, I’ve misjudged him. And yes, I like him. Really like him. Although there are times I still think he’s a jerk…I now think he’s a sexy jerk.
And I want more of him.
The question is—does he want more of me?

Another book to add to my re-read
shelf! I love Kim Karr’s books and Sexy Jerk is everything I love about them!
The characters, the plot, the humor, and the steam.
I can’t really blame Tess for her initial
opinion of Nick, however, if she’d taken the time to see beyond the party boy,
she might have realized earlier what kind of man he truly was. Her situation
with her ex sucks and I immediately liked her for picking up the pieces of her
broken heart and powering forward. She had a dry wit that made me smile and a
determination to succeed that I admired. When she and Nick get stuck together,
she doesn’t completely close her mind to the possibility that he might be
different than she originally thought.
Nick is a bit of an onion, full of
layers. I fell for him as soon as I read the first section from his POV. Not to
mention how he was with Max, talk about swoon-worthy. Considering his baggage
from his mother, I wasn’t surprised that he would be wary of love and
relationships. He had his moments of being a complete idiot, but I already
liked him so much that I held out hope he would come to his senses. He
definitely made it up to me J
The chemistry between these two is
nuclear and the sexual tension…whoa. I was squirming in my chair. Lol. I
completely enjoyed watching them fall for each other and releasing just how
perfect they were together.
The story is fast paced with lots of
fun and steam, but there is also some action thrown in and all of that kept me
turning page after page until I was sad to see it end. I also loved the
secondary characters and their stories. Even the villain. Well, I didn’t love
him, I hated him, but that’s the point, right? The author’s goal is to make you
connect whether through love of the characters or hate.
This is an excellent read and I’ll definitely
be returning to it for a good reread in the future!!
