The Last Guy by Ilsa Madden Mills and Tia Louise was a fun, flirty and sweet romance that will leave you with a smile. I am already a big fan of Ilsa’s so I jumped at the chance to read this. I have never read anything by Tia so I am definitely checking out her books.
Cade is the All American boy. He’s got charm, sex appeal, brains and money. He’s the former NFL quarterback turned sports director at WHOU News 4 who constantly gets under reporter Rebecca Fieldstone’s skin. He is attracted to Rebecca like he’s never been, she intrigues him. He knows he can’t cross that line with her being a co-worker, but man does he want too. Can he resist the temptation when a situation presents itself? Or will Cade fall under Rebecca’s spell?
Rebecca(Stone) has worked hard to achieve her dream job of anchor. She’s this close, she can smell it. But with a boss who might be out to fire her, she can’t take any chances of screwing up. When a night out drowning her latest screw up happens, she never expects the man of her pornographic thoughts to show up looking even more delicious. In her mind he’s arrogant, has the biggest ego and was just handed the job. However, she can’t help but be supremely attracted to him, but no way in hell will she admit it to him or anyone else! Will they cross the line? Will Rebecca finally see the leading man in her dreams up close and personal? Is he everything she images?
What I enjoyed most was the fumbling around these two seemed to have. They had great sexual tension and chemistry. Those moments of the two of them...so freaking hot! Rebecca wanted him, but was desperate to keep him in the friend zone. But every time she was near him all she wanted to was rip his clothes off and touch him. Cade has wanted her and after the night they shared all he wants is more. He can’t get the images out of his mind, he is bound and determined to make Rebecca his. Can Cade convince Rebecca they are good for each other? Or will he be another mistake Rebecca makes?
OMG this book was hilarious. Between her roommate and his brother who just add more humor to it, I found myself chuckling quite a few times. Especially when Rebecca’s bared all for everyone...lol. Note to self: stay away from monkeys!
This is definitely a re-read for me. I hope that they put this on audio because I can just image the voices and I want this to come alive even more than it did when reading. Ilsa and Tia got a touchdown with this...hell maybe won the Superbowl. I hope that they write another story together. The words flowed, the characters had personality and it all came together in a delightful sexy and funny read! I highly recommend this!! 5 Fireball Stars!
