5* #Review #Excerpt Dirty Tricks by @EmmaHartAuthor @InkSlingerPR

DIRTY TRICKS
Blurb
Chelsey Young's dad was a rock star. Glamorous, right? But late nights, frequent travelling, and watching endless women rub their bodies against Lukas Young's in a bid for his attention wasn't exactly how Chelsey planned to spend her senior year of high school.

So when Kye Burke, of the ultra-sexy band Dirty B, sets his sights on Chelsey, she figures the best way to get him off her back is by taking his sexy butt to bed.

But after one night together, Kye has no intention of staying away from Chelsey, especially when she's kissing him one minute then pushing him away the next. From watching her father, Chelsey knows the rock star lifestyle that Kye leads—being away for long stretches of time, girls throwing themselves at him on the regular, shirtless photos showing up in his inbox ten times a day. She wants no part of it.

Kye is determined for Chelsey to get to know him, the real him behind the rock star persona. But that isn't so easy when Kye's schedule will take him away for days, weeks, even a month or two at a time, which is a dealbreaker for Chelsey. Long distance means temptation to stray, and infidelity was the reason her own parents split. She knows it's not fair to project her own insecurities onto Kye, but some things are unavoidable.

But Kye Burke isn't Lukas Young.

And, distance or not, he's going to damn well prove it.

Review- 5 Stars

Oh Lord this damn Burke Brothers just get my blood flowing. They are sexy, sweet and deliciously dirty!

Chelsea is a difficult and different girl. Shes an outright mean bitch at times....I loved her. However, that doesn't mean I didn't want to smack her a few times. You see that she's built up walls around herself in hopes of saving herself from heartache. Once her whole story is revealed you understand why she is the way she is. What she doesn't expect is to have someone jump through hoops and use himself as a wrecking ball on those walls.

Kye is by far my favorite. He's an absolute sweetheart, but he does have a dirty mouth. He's funny, caring, alpha male and totally hooked on Chelsea. He wants her and he will stop at nothing to make her his. He challenged Chelsea and I loved that he didn't give up on her. He broke down the walls slowly and tried his best to protect her from his crazy life and living to much in her mind, from her not so good past.

"I know you love me, and I'm so fucking in love with you that the idea of letting you go is fucking fairy tale. I don't do fairy tales. I do real life, and you're my real life. I'm gonna fight for this, for you, until you feel the same as I do."

I loved everything about this story.
Kye and Chelsea's story felt real.
The chemistry between them is undeniable. You can feel the sexual tension radiate off of them when they are around each other. Chelsea is so hot and cold at times, I couldn't wait for her to finally get the hot poker stick up her butt to realize what a catch Kye is.

Emma writes wonderful alpha males. She develops her characters well, gives the storyline some interesting twists every now and then. I devoured this and I'm sad this might be the end of this fantastic series. You don't need to read the other books in the series as they are each standalones. But I highly recommend that you do. Each brother is a breath of fresh air....5 Tingling Stars!!!

“What,” Chelsey exclaims, “the hell is that?”
With a wide smile spreading across my face, I shove my hands in my pockets like a teenage boy and look at her. “A Christmas tree.”
“Are those . . . penises?”
“Technically, dildos.”
“Like real ones?” She jerks her alarmed gaze to me.
“No. Just plastic.”
She flicks her tongue across her lips. “Uh-huh. Why do you have penises across your Christmas tree?”
“Because he’s an immature little bastard,” Leila answers for me.
“You didn’t stop me,” I shoot back.
“Hell no I didn’t. I cannot wait to see Mom’s face when she sees this!”
“When she sees what?” Mom’s voice creeps through the house ominously, and the close of the door after her sounds like the signal that I should run away.
“Uh . . . I’m just gonna go . . .to the store. . . .” I shuffle toward the door that connects the front room with the kitchen.
Chelsey lifts her eyebrows in amusement, and Dad grabs the back of my shirt so I can’t escape.
You wouldn’t think I was twenty-four. For numerous reasons, obviously.
“Kye Burke, why are there tiny penises on my Christmas tree?”
Her voice is calm. Really calm. I’m even more convinced that I should run. “Merry Cock-mas?”
Mom’s expression is somewhere between insane amusement and extreme frustration.
“I’m just gonna come back later . . .” Chelsey whispers, edging toward the living room door. “When there are less . . . cocks.”
“Good idea! I’ll come with you.” I wrestle out of Dad’s grip and dart behind him, through the kitchen, and into the hall.
Chelsey laughs and grabs my arm, dragging me back into the room. “I said I was going. I didn’t say you were escaping this cock-up.”
“Great choice of words,” Dad chuckles.
Mom pinches the bridge of her nose. “I should have known that when three boys left, one boy would have to make the impression of three,” she says, mostly to herself. “I should have known that the one who never left his little peep alone at two would one day decorate my tree in cocks.”
“Mom! What the hell?” I sputter.
“I should have known that his ball-hoarding obsession at six was a sign of things to come,” she sighs heavily and drops her hand. “After all, there’s one in every boyband. I thought I was ready for this.” Then, she turns to me. “Kye, son, we love you anyway, but I have to ask. Are you gay?”
Chelsey lets go of me, and laughter rips from her. Leila laughs, too, her book falling to the floor. Dad covers his face with his hands, and Mom just stands there in the middle of the room, her eyes wide. Her hands are now clasped in front of her sympathetically, and the tiny upturn of the right side of her mouth explains it all.
“Well played, Mother,” I say reluctantly, walking back toward the front door. “Well. Played.”

Title: An Act of Salvation (Acts of Honor Series #2)
Author: KC Lynn
Release Date: January 27 2016

Amazon US  |  Amazon UK  |  Amazon CA  |

TBR Link: Goodreads

Synopsis

Sometimes two broken pieces make a whole.

He’s the one she’s always loved.

She’s the one he could never have.

A forbidden night of passion resulted in years of heartbreak when he walked away. Now she’s in danger and needs his help.

Trust doesn’t come easy for FBI Agent Nick Stone, especially when it comes to love, but he’ll risk it all for Katelyn Slade.

Including his heart.

Bullets fly, betrayals are exposed, and the flames from their past ignite.

His protection might be what saves her but in the end she will be his salvation.

This is Book two in the Acts Of Honor series, the spin-off series to Men Of Honor. It’s Nick and Katelyn’s story and is told in dual POV, has an HEA with no cliffhanger and it can be read as a standalone. However, I highly recommend that you read the Men Of Honor series prior, as characters play recurring roles in both series.

Review - 5 Stars

I've come to realize if there is one part of our body we have no control over its the heart. It has a mind of its own and it doesn't give a damn about consequences.

Nick Nick Nick….loved him in Beautifully Insightful. I have been waiting for his story...hoping and praying for his story. What I love was how KC weaved everything together with all the characters. It was breathtaking! I seriously do not think that she can write anything bad. I probably would pay to read what she has to say about housecleaners or toilet paper. I was at a loss for words when I finished this last night. I had to think about what I wanted to write about, to express my feelings to give the book the praise it deserves….and I have come to the conclusion I won't be able to do that, so I am just going to go with it….lol

Nick and Katelyn have known each other since they were children. Nick was Katelyn's brother Kolan's best friend and these two always protected Katelyn whether it was with their words or fists. As Katelyn has gotten older, Nick started feeling differently towards Katelyn., she wasn't just like a little sister anymore, she was becoming more. But he would never cross that line, she needed someone who would cherish her, be there for her, give her the love she deserved. He couldn't do that….Nick trusted no one and would never love anyone again. They always leave, and he wasn't about to subject himself to that again, no matter how much he wanted to be with Katelyn. After one night ofpassion, Nick walks away without saying goodbye. Katelyn's heartbroken and devastated,, I seriously, was like you bastard!
Years go by, with no contact, nothing. Both are in thriving in their new lives, but still not completely happy and whole. But that soon will change….a phone call changes the course of their life. Katelyn turns to the one person she hasn't seen or heard from in seven years. The one person who can help her, but will he?

”My life would be so much easier if you loved me,” I whisper before I can think better of it.
He chuckles, thinking I'm joking. I'm not. But I let him think it. I know if I tell him the truth he will run out of here in the blink of an eye.
“Trust me, you life wouldn't be better.”
I tilt my head curiously, “why do you say that?”
“I'm not capable of it. I'm too broken to love anyone.”
I stare at his profile, my already damaged heart shattering. This isn't the first time I've wondered what the hell happened to him, what made him like this.
”I think maybe we're all a little broken, Nick. I know I am.”
“All the more reason it wouldn't work.”
“I don't know about that,” I whisper. “Sometimes, two broken pieces make a whole.”

So Nick Stone...oh my is he yummy. His dirty mouth sets me on fire….god I loved him. To understand why Nick is the way he is you must go back to his younger life. The torment he has suffered from being left by the one woman who was suppose to love him unconditionally, has changed his life. He trusts no one. He doesn't let anyone know about his past or get too close, he's very guarded. Your heart will break for him.

He makes me feel beautiful, he makes me feel more than I am. He makes me feel worthy. You are more.

Katelyn my girl! She was feisty and lovable. She had a shitty life, but there were always two constants in her life. Kolan her brother and Nick the boy she loved. She never felt like she matter, she was treated like trash because of who her family was. However, Nick always told her she was more, she was beautiful, she mattered. But did she matter to Nick?

The sexual tension is freaking phenomenal. It pours off the pages and let me tell you I was feeling the electricity between them. The spark was slowing getting bigger and bigger until it blasts off and holy shit...It was DIRTY, it was HOT and it was INTENSE!! Seriously, tingles..all..over..my..body!
But can they find peace with one another.? Can they get past the past and move on to a future? Will Katelyn be Nick's salvation? Will Katelyn open her heart to have it shredded again?

As the story continues, you are taking on a fast roller coaster ride. It has twists and turns when you least expect it. You are trying to keep up, but its that intense. Not just the chemistry and passion, but the secrets and lies….shit is going down! Totally KC!

KC's words hold a lot of beauty. She helps soothe your soul, gives you a smile, and make you shed some tears. All her characters are likable, enjoyable and real. The hurdles that each person and couple face are problems that anyone could. I know with this book, I was laughing and loving all the sexy moments. Then BOOM she has to make me break out the ugly tears. Damn you! I absolutely adore this woman. She makes you feel every emotion possible. She sucks you into her stories and makes you feel!!! She is always a 1-click and re-read for me, I would love to give this more than 5 Stars!
KC keeps bringing it and outdoing herself every book. Never never disappoints! 5 Dirty Plus Stars!

Review by Heather Driscoll

Excerpt

He begins moving inside of me with slow, exquisite strokes, his eyes never leaving mine. He looks at me in a way I’ve longed to have someone look at me my whole life. Like I matter, like I’m important…like I am more. When it’s time for him to go back this is what I’ll remember. This is what I’ll keep close to me on the nights I ache for him, to remember that someone looked at me like this once. Even if I don’t get it for a lifetime, it’s better than not getting it at all.

Just like the man himself.

Reaching up, I cup his strong, stubbly jaw. He encircles my wrist and kisses the inside of it, right over my tattoo.

No words needed.

As more tears begin to fall he leans down and catches them with his lips. “Feel me, Kate. Feel nothing but me.”

“I do. You’re all I feel.”

“Just us,” he whispers.

“Just us.”

There are some debts you can’t repay.

Josh Walker is loyal, reckless, and every girl’s dream. But he only has eyes for December Howard, the girl he's craved since his high school hockey days. Together they have survived grief, the military, distance, and time as they’ve fought for stolen weekends between his post at Ft. Rucker and her college at Vanderbilt. Now that Josh is a medevac pilot and Ember is headed toward graduation, they’re moving on—and in—together.

Ember never wanted the Army life, but loving Josh means accepting whatever the army dictates—even when that means saying goodbye as Josh heads to Afghanistan, a country that nearly killed him once before and that took her father. But filling their last days together with love, passion, and plans for their future doesn’t temper Ember’s fear, and if there’s one thing she’s learned from her father’s death, it’s that there are some obstacles even love can’t conquer.

Flight school is over.
This is war.

Review - 5 Stars
5 amazing stars!!!

This story took me on an emotional roller coaster ride that took me a few days to get over. When I finished this story, I kept thinking about Josh and December. I think that this one hit closer to home with me because I am a military spouse and could relate to so much that this couple had to go through. I am so glad that Rebecca Yarros uses her experiences as a military spouse in her novels. This gives the story so much more feeling and you feel like you are the one actually going through these situations with the characters. Her writing is unmatched in this area!

Josh is a pilot and is facing another deployment. With this deployment lurking in their future, December and Josh try to take advantage of every moment they can while Josh is still around. December is in school and trying to finish up her degree. She has moved in with Josh and this causes her to have a longer commute to school, but they both think that it is worth it! With Josh having been injured in his previous deployment, the risk is always in the back of his mind. December lost her father in the war and continually worries about Josh, especially after he got hurt last time.

When deployment day finally comes for them, they both have to pull themselves together and be strong for each other. Neither one of them are looking forward to the next few months. December makes up her mind that she is only going to give herself a day to cry, but after that she has to pick up and move on. With December being in school, there is an opportunity that presents itself for her to go on a dig in Turkey. Josh is pushing for her to go, but she is not sure what she wants to do yet. Josh being deployed during the time of the dig does help a little though. At least they will not be away from each other because of her trip.

When December and her friend Paisley, her best friend and also a military spouse that lives next door to her, get greeted with the dreaded visit from men in suits, they both long for their significant other and pray that it is not theirs that has been injured/killed. When they get the news that both of their significant others has been injured, they immediately jump into action and get plane tickets to check on their loved ones. Seeing the emotions that both Josh and December go through while Josh is healing makes you realize what soldiers and their families go through when soldiers get injured. It doesn't end when they are healed. The emotional damage that is done lasts a lot longer.

I love that this story is told in dual POV. We get to see what each character is going through with all the situations and see both sides of the story. I loved being able to see how December felt about a situation and then getting Josh's take on it as well. I don't want to give the whole book away with my review, but I must say that this is a HAVE to read book. I could not put it down until I was done with it. Rebecca Yarros truly knows how to keep your attention in a story and not loose it! There were no lulls in the story for me at all. I honestly am excited to see what is next for this amazing author. I hope that she continues with the military romance theme because she does it so well!

I pulled her onto my lap, gently squeezing the sweet curves of her hips.
“Behave,” she whispered into my ear, but ran her tongue along the edge.
My fingers flexed, teasing under the edges of the black skirt that had slid higher on her thighs as she sat. I couldn’t help it—her skin was a magnet for my hands. “You like it better when I don’t,” I answered.
She locked those blue eyes on mine, and for that second, I wanted everyone to go the fuck away so I could get my remarkable girlfriend out of her clothes. Not a girlfriend for long. Not if I found the perfect moment for that little velvet box hidden upstairs.
Mrs. Walker. December-fucking-Walker. Sounded perfect to me.
“Earth to Josh and Ember,” Jagger called, waving his hand like he’d been at it a while.
“Yeah, yeah, a toast,” Ember said, wiggling against my now-hard lap. I locked her down with my hands, and she threw me a smug grin, well aware of what she’d done.
Jagger raised his beer. “To friends. Hell, that doesn’t even cut it. You guys, all of you...I wouldn’t be here”—he looked over to Paisley—“or even the man I am, without you. So more than friends...to family.”
We glanced around the fire at the family we’d made, and I felt it—one of those moments you can’t forget, the kind that stay with you when it’s long past, so you try to memorize everything. It was a deep peace, a contentment laced with the silent knowledge that we wouldn’t be together again for far too long.
“To family,” we all said in scattered rhythm, and I kissed the underside of Ember’s jaw.

REVIEW - 4 Stars
I'm a sucker for a book about fighters-whether they be MMA fighters, or in Xavier Cold's case, wrestlers.  I can't help it, it's my thing, my weakness, my kriptonite. So, it was impossible for me not to be excited about reading this book.  I went into the series kind of blind, I''l admit.  I had no idea what to expect or if it was just going to be another run of the mill bad boy fighter book.  I was pleasantly surprised.
I loved X and his passion towards Anna.  He had an undying love vibe coming from him and what girl doesn't appreciate that? He had a stubborn, yet, determined attitude, one that I personally love in a male lead.
I liked Anna, but I didn't love her.  At times, although she was strong, she seemed on the whiny side and that turned me off from her in a few scenes.  But, for the most part, I enjoyed her.  I admired her ability to stay by Xavier's side even in the most undesirable situations.
There was a lot going on in the book, and at some moments it felt as if it was a little too much but the book had me sitting on the edge of my seat.  I felt it was a great conclusion for Xavier and Anna and their story.  I was surprised as to how unique this book ended up being and I have to say, even though there were some things i wasn't a fan of, I grew to really like this story.  I'll definitely read more of Michelle A Valentine's work, she's a great writer!

In the fifth novel of the captivating Rhymes with Love series from New York Times bestselling author Elizabeth Boyle, a young woman’s hopes of a match encounter a wickedly handsome complication…

Lavinia Tempest has been eagerly anticipating a spectacular Season. But one disastrous pile-up on the Almack’s dance floor derails all her plans. Add to that, the very stunning revelations about her mother’s scandalous past have become the ton’s latest on dits. Lavinia’s future has gone from shining bright to blackest night in one misstep.

Alaster “Tuck” Rowland admits he’s partly to blame for Lavinia’s disastrous debut. But it’s not guilt that compels him to restore her reputation. Rather, he’s placed a wager that he can make Lavinia into of the most sought-after ladies in London. Who better than an unrepentant rake to set Society astir?

Tuck’s motives are hardly noble. But in teaching the lovely Lavinia how to win any man she wants, he suddenly finds himself tangled in the last place he ever imagined: in love.

“Come now, Miss Tempest, my uncle expects me to dance with one of you,” he said as he came wavering up to her. “You cannot stand here all night.”
She looked around for her sister, Lady Aveley. Anyone. “I-I-I, oh dear. Mr. Rowland, I don’t believe—” she stammered out, even as Mr. Rowland took her hand, his strong, sure fingers lacing around hers.
No man had ever just come up and claimed her before for the simple reason that Kempton was a small village, and everyone knew (thanks in no small part to Mrs. Bagley-Butterton) that dancing with Lavinia was akin to asking to have your toes trimmed—or those of your neighbors—or to have something valuable broken.
Or a section of your house scorched.
Mr. Rowland, completely unaware of the mortal danger into which he was placing himself and a good portion of London society, just caught hold of her hand and tugged her out onto the floor, utterly and completely deaf to her protests.
“No, please, sir, I don’t think this is wise,” she told him. And she meant it. This was a very bad notion.
But unfortunately, her protests had no effect on Mr. Rowland, horrible scoundrel that he was …
Has that been mentioned as yet? That Mr. Alaster Rowland, the presumptive heir to his uncle’s barony, is the worst sort of knave? It should be. And often.
He was also the most handsome devil Lavinia Tempest had ever met. Or had held her hand. Or smiled down at her with a wicked light in his eyes.
Lavinia had never seen brown eyes hold that sort of promise, the kind that sent a shiver of something so delicious, so dangerous, down her spine that she made a note right there and then to add a new rule to her list at her first opportunity:
No. 83. A proper gentleman should not make one’s insides get so very warm.
In truth, as Mr. Alaster Rowland slid his hand around her waist, took her other hand in his, something altogether improper happened to Lavinia.
It had to be improper, for it certainly wasn’t proper.
“Mr. Rowland, I cannot,” she protested one last time, when to her horror, the band struck up a cotillion.
A cotillion? The last time she’d tried to dance a cotillion, Lady Essex’s house, Foxgrove, had caught fire.
Yet here was Mr. Rowland, laughing and leaning closer. “But of course you can,” he whispered in her ear, his breath warm against her skin.
It was as if he had brushed his fingers there —right against the curve of her neck. It was so intimate, so promising a gesture, that it left Lavinia in a blinding daze.
Yet Lavinia, the girl who had made a study of all things proper, knew exactly how to behave when all was proceeding at a proper pace, but right now she was being steered down a path she’d never taken before and assailed by a river of improper desires.
At least she assumed they were desires, for it was a dangerous, heady sort of warmth spreading through her limbs.
That, and something else happened. Her feet—which before had always seemed two sizes too big—untangled. It was as if the warmth of Mr. Rowland’s touch, his teasing glance, his confidence in her, awakened a very graceful part of her.
Lavinia straightened, head held just so, and a long-forgotten admonishment from the dancing master Lady Hathaway had hired years ago, tripped through her thoughts.
Dancing is all about elegance.
And right there and then, Lavinia felt elegant. Not because her gown was proper. Or that she was standing on the dance floor of Almack’s (though that certainly helped) but because the man gazing down at her held her, not at arm’s length and in obvious fear, but with all the proper care and respect of a gentleman.
Moments later, Lavinia Tempest found herself dancing.
Perfectly. Like a lady. Mr. Rowland moved, as did everyone else, and Lavinia moved as well.

And in the right direction.
