by Georgia Cates
From New York Times, USA
Today, and Wall Street Journal best-selling author, Georgia Cates, comes a
steamy new standalone contemporary romance novel.
SYNOPSIS
Beau Emerson is no
gentleman.
Those hazel eyes.
That filthy mouth.
That greedy, hard body.
It all equates to one thing.
Irresistible.
One look and I know he’ll
bruise my lips and scar my knees. He’ll give me the best nine days of my life
while ruining me in the most beautiful way imaginable. And I’ll let him because
he has the power to talk me into anything.
Except one thing.
Staying.
I have no choice. The things
I desire from him will destroy me in the end. I want more than he’s capable of
giving––something true and beautiful.
He can never know how much of
me belongs to him. Too much is at stake.
Shh … don’t tell him he’s my
everything.
My name is Anna James
Bennett. And this is our story.

REVIEW - 4 STARS!
So
far, I’ve never found a Georgia Cates book I didn’t love. I really enjoyed
Indulge, it is fantastic! It’s definitely a different direction that her
previous books, but still entertaining and hot as hell. However, it doesn’t
quite live up to the Beauty and Sin series for me.
Hedonism isn’t something that I find appealing, so that particular aspect, made
it tougher for me to get into. Any kind of plural relationship seems fake and
about something completely different than is portrayed. However, since Anna is
staunchly monogamous, I could get beyond it and enjoy the book.
Anna is a straight shooter in the beginning, a little broken, but open to
stepping out of her comfort zone and having some fun. She’s not in the least
interested in stepping into the hedonism world though. She doesn’t judge her
friends for their lifestyle choices, and I appreciated that in her personality.
When
she meets Beau, she is immediately drawn to him, however she doesn’t believe
that he can change. In particular, she doesn’t feel like she would ever be
enough for him on her own. This is partly due to the circumstances of her spilt
with her ex-husband, having been left for a younger woman. What made me sad,
was that she didn’t give Beau enough credit as a person. He’s clearly a strong
personality, someone who could make a change and stick to their choice.
Beau
doesn’t know it, but he’s looking to be healed, to be loved just for himself.
After being burned by his fiancé in their polyamory relationship, he’s ready to
drown his sorrows in a whole lot of women. But, the moment he meets Anna, she
is the only one he wants. He convinces her to spend the rest of her vacation
with him and as their tie goes on, he realizes that he wants more.
As
always there is conflict in the story, one that could easily be solved if
people would just take a second and talk things out. But, such is the typical
plot of a story. Misunderstandings and all that jazz.
Without
giving away spoilers, I’ll just say that Anna did something to truly piss me
off and I felt like she had no right, no matter how you slice them apples. So,
it soured me on her quite a bit. However, Beau really saves the book. He such a
great character, devoted and sure in his convictions, willing to let Anna do
and be whatever she wants as long as it makes her happy.
The
chemistry is definitely typical Georgia Cates, and by that I mean HOT!! There
is some true sexy in this book and its panty-melting good! Overall, I’d
recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of this author, and the hedonism
aspect (not between the two main characters and there is no description of a
poly sexual activities) doesn’t bother you, it’s a great book. If this is your
first Georgia Cates book, make sure you read the rest! I truly love this author
and I’ll continue reading everything she writes!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Georgia resides in rural
Mississippi with her wonderful husband, Jeff, and their two beautiful
daughters. She spent fourteen years as a labor and delivery nurse before she
decided to pursue her dream of becoming an author and hasn’t looked back yet.
When she’s not writing,
she’s thinking about writing. When she’s being domestic, she’s listening to her
iPod and visualizing scenes for her current work in progress. Every story
coming from her always has a song to inspire it.
