I
lent my heart to the bad boy, and he did exactly what I expected he would. He
broke it.
And
the guy I should have been with—he’s still here. He tries to take my mind off
everything I’ve lost while showing me what I could have. I’m ready for a new
start, to fall in love again … to do what I should have done in the first
place.
Everything
seems perfect.
Then
the past comes walking back in. I thought I was over him, but one look and I
know that’s not true. We went through too much together for those feelings to
completely fade away.
When
my past and present collide, how am I supposed to choose? They both love me,
and I love them.
A
heart will be broken … and it could be mine.
Review - 5 Stars
Oh
my I am in love....perfect!
Sometimes
love just isn't enough.
Love
feels so good but hurts so bad
This
is definitely a series you need to read! Lisa did a phenomenal job with
the characters and the storyline. Book one leaves you hanging in the
worst possible way, it has you craving part two so bad. I was so stoked
to get this...major girl squealing!!
This
picks up six months later.
Home.
That's what you want. But how can you go home when the one you feel
is home runs and destroys your heart.
Lila
is surviving the only way she can. She throws herself into her work.
She's trying to get the old Lila back, but she's buried and can't seem to
see or get past the heartbreak. It's like a heavy fog has consumed and
she's trying to grip a rope that's just dangling out of reach.
Blake
god I wanted to hate him, but I still loved him and understood why he left.
Guilt and sorrow consume him. He wanted Lila to have better, to
have someone she could believe in. To be happy.
Pierce
was like a knight in shining armor. I loved him and wanted him to get his
happiness. He was patient, kind and all kinds of sweet. He was in
love with Lila. he also wanted her to have happiness, so he waited for
her to finally try to move on.
You
smell exactly like I remember. You don't know how hard I tried to forget,
but I can't forget the unforgettable.
I
can't describe how much of a roller coaster of emotions this was. It
gives you the feels big time...goosebumps! Lila and Blake had a love that
was all consuming and I felt they were destined to be together. I swooned
over Pierce and the things he did for Lila, but I didn't 100% feel the
connection between them. Her heart still belonged to Blake no matter how
hard she tried to move on. I wasn't sure what Lila would do. She
loved two men and both would do whatever she wanted. People may say that
Blake was selfish and yes at times he was, but when you've reached that deep
dark part of your soul and you need help, you fix yourself first before you can
fully commit to someone and their love.
Pierce
was a good choice for Lila to be happy, but as I said it just didn't 100% feel
right.
Let
me tell you I haven't highlighted so many things in a book for a long time.
Lisa weaves such a heartbreaking book. It gripped my heart and I
literally felt sick because I was aching for these characters. Evil
woman!! This was a wonderful story of forgiveness, second chances and
true love. As you know....
Love
is complicated, and in its best form, it's unspoken. It shows in the
things we do, not what we say.
If
you are looking for a series that will grip your heart and tug...this is it!
If your looking for a book that will show you forgiveness and second
chances...this is it! If you want a mesmerizing and captivating
read...this is your book! I honestly could keep going on and on....I was
left with a giddy feeling and a giant smile. I was also intrigued by the
last lines...hmmm...Thank you Lisa, Thank you!

Excerpt
“If I had come home sooner, would I have
had a chance?” he asks, sinking down in the bed until we’re eye to eye. He
knows he’s making it impossible for me to skirt around the truth.
Eyes don’t easily lie to eyes.
“Yes,” I whisper. “I waited for you. Until New York, it would have been you.”
His fingers come up, gently brushing a piece of hair from my forehead. “I really fucked up with you, didn’t I?”
“Neither of us was in the right place. It wasn’t our time.”
He moves closer, brushing his thumb against my cheek. My conscience whispers but the tequila screams. “When will it be our time?”
I think about Pierce. This weekend. Everything. “It may never come, or maybe, it’s already passed.”
“I’m going to fight for you,” he declares, propping himself up on his elbow to look down at me. “I thought I could let you go if I knew it would make you happy, but after sitting alone in this apartment all weekend while you were with him, I don’t think I can do that.”
I swallow hard. “And, if you don’t win?”
“I’ve already lost, so what do I have left to lose?”
And, he’s right. He’s already lost so much that the risk is minimal.
“Pierce trusts me,” I blurt, my palms sweating against the sheets.
He leans in, kissing my cheek. “He shouldn’t trust me, not when he has the one thing I want.”
“Blake?”
He slips out of my bed without looking back, carefully closing the bedroom door behind him. He wanted the last word, and he got it.
