Wow! Where to even
begin with this one?? Such an emotional roller coaster that I still feel like I
am on the ride and scared to get off. So ready for the next book to find out
what is going to happen for Raelyn and Damien. This story was so well written
and drew you in from the very beginning. The romance was steamy and Damien was
a great Alpha male that knew what he wanted. Great read!
Raelyn has just beat a life altering illness when we first meet her in this story. I can't imagine being in her shoes and planning for the worst only to get a second chance at life. While Raelyn was dealing with the most difficult time in her life, her boyfriend up and leaves her to deal with things all on her own. Thanks goodness she had a great roommate that came into play, Iris. Iris has been there for Raelyn through all of it and is there with her when she gets her results as well.
With Raelyn getting a second chance at life, she has decided that she is going to give her position of CEO all that she has. She dedicates herself to her work and focuses only on that. Raelyn still has not gotten over the heartache that she had to deal with when her ex left her, so dating and men have been the last thing on her mind. When Raelyn meets Damien with her job, she immediately knows there is something about him.
Damien has his fair share of scares and issues from his past that he is dealing with as well and both Damien and Raelyn keep their past from each other. When Raelyn and Damien start seeing each other, the sparks begin to fly immediately. My Kindle was pretty much sizzling as I was reading it. Damien is an Alpha male that knows what he wants and will do pretty much anything to get it and he kept fighting off Raelyn's persistent No's!! I love that he kept fighting for her and did not give up easily. They needed each other whether they realized it at first or not.
I don't want to give away any parts of the story, but this one left me longing for more from these characters. I just wanted it to all turn out so well for them since they had both come so far in their relationship, and I still have hopes of that happening, but we will have to wait for the next book. This one will stay with me for a long time to come. I still have mixed emotions and think about these characters now. These two were so layered and we finally get to know them and see them shed their fears only to end with a cliffhanger!! I want the next book now!!! Thanks Alicia Rae for a great read and I can't wait for more from you and from Raelyn and Damien!!
