If she has her way…
Willa Davis is wrangling puppies when Keane Winters stalks into her pet shop with frustration in his chocolate-brown eyes and a pink bedazzled cat carrier in his hand. He needs a kitty sitter, stat. But the last thing Willa needs is to rescue a guy who doesn’t even remember her…
…He’ll get nothing but coal in his stocking.
Saddled with his great-aunt’s Feline from Hell, Keane is desperate to leave her in someone else’s capable hands. But in spite of the fact that he’s sure he’s never seen the drop-dead gorgeous pet shop owner before, she seems to be mad at him…
Unless he tempers “naughty” with a special kind of nice…
Willa can’t deny that Keane’s changed since high school: he’s less arrogant, for one thing—but he doesn’t even remember her. How can she trust him not to break her heart again? It’s time to throw a coin in the fountain, make a Christmas wish–and let the mistletoe do its work…

5 stars
A Jill Shalvis book and a book with some Christmas magic in it, I am in!! This was a great read and I can totally relate to Willa with her love of Christmas and decorating for it. I can hardly wait for this season each year. Willa is definitely a girl after my own heart with her love of Christmas and pets!!
Willa is a young lady that has been dealt a rough hand in life, but has come out with a great attitude and a huge heart for helping others. Will was in and out of the system when she was growing up so she never really knew what a loving family was. Although Willa was passed from person to person growing up, she has not let that effect her love for all pets and wanting to give them a second chance! Willa has opened her own store, the South Bark Mutt Shop, where she does a little of everything.
When Willa hears a knock on her front door one morning before she is even supposed to open for the day, she goes to see who is there and is shocked to see an old high school classmate. Keane is in her shop before she even has a chance to realize what is going on and she can feel her anger towards him and how he hurt her flood back to her. When Keane asks Willa if she can watch his aunt's cat for the day, Willa is hesitant to even help him. After all he has done to her and he acts like he doesn't even remember her?? There is no way she is going to help him out in a bind, or will her big heart get in the way?
After that first encounter, Willa wonders if she will ever see Keane again, but guess what?? He ends up showing up again and asking her for some more help with his aunt's cat. Will Willa be able to get over her anger from the past and move onto a relationship with Keane, even if it is just as friends? You really should read this one for yourself to find out. I loved every minute of this story and longed for more when it was done.
The way that Keane and Willa have their ups and downs in this relationship makes them feel so much more like a real couple than some other stories I have read. I just felt like I was in their lives and could relate to them on so many levels. Jill Shalvis definitely has a way of writing characters that catch you by surprise and make you fall in love with them and the whole overall story. This story put me in the mood for Christmas and I can't wait. I might even have to revisit this story once the season is upon us!!
