From New York Times Bestselling author Laura Kaye, comes the first steamy standalone in her Raven Riders Series, RIDE HARD! A sexy romantic suspense, you might’ve first met the Ravens in the Hard Ink world, but this series about a different kind of a motorcycle club with a protective mission stands on its own and is even sexier, edgier, and grittier! The Raven Riders Series takes you on a new adventure and kicks it into overdrive!
Brotherhood. Club. Family.
They live and ride by their own rules.
These are the Raven Riders…
Raven Riders Motorcycle Club President Dare Kenyon rides hard and values loyalty above all else. He’ll do anything to protect the brotherhood of bikers—the only family he’s got—as well as those who can’t defend themselves. So when mistrustful Haven Randall lands on the club’s doorstep scared that she’s being hunted, Dare takes her in, swears to keep her safe, and pushes to learn the secrets overshadowing her pretty smile.
Haven fled from years of abuse at the hands of her criminal father and is suspicious of any man’s promises, including those of the darkly sexy and overwhelmingly intense Ravens’ leader. But as the powerful attraction between them flares to life, Dare pushes her boundaries and tempts her to want things she never thought she could.
The past never dies without a fight, but Dare Kenyon’s never backed down before…

REVIEW- 5 Stars
I was never a big fan of the MC genre, but Laura Kaye is one
of those authors who does it right! I fell in love with the Ravens in the Hard
Ink series and I was ecstatic when I found out they were getting their own
books!
Dare is a very complex character. He is shaped by an abusive
childhood and a terribly tragedy, but he grew up to respect and love what a
brotherhood can do for each other as well as others. He took on the roll of
leader for the Ravens at a young age and he has held the weight of that responsibility
ever since. Along the way, he built a mission for the Ravens, one that spends a
great deal of effort helping those who cannot help themselves, who are stuck in
bad situations and can see no way out. Recently, he lost two of his MC brothers
helping in another fight and that, among others things has him feeling a little
worse for the ware.
Haven is battered and bruised on the inside, a permanent
scar from all of the times she was black and blue on the outside. She grew up
in a home where she was nothing but a possession, someone for her father to use
and abuse when it served his purposes. Her best-friend Cora didn't exactly have
a stellar home life either and together they managed to do the impossible and
escape. Unfortunately, escaping is on the first battle and surviving is
sometimes even harder. They find themselves rescued and taken in by the Ravens
who treat them as they do anyone else in need, giving them help and
protection.
When Dare and Haven meet, sparks fly. Butterflies in the
belly, tingles in all the right places, burn the joint down, sparks. But, Dare
believes he is too old for her, she'd be better off without him, and this life,
but mostly, she's safer if she begins fresh, somewhere else, as someone
else.
These two have a tough battle because as much as we'd like
it to be as simple as getting over an age difference, the reality is that Haven
brings danger to the club with her. Protecting only goes so far when it puts
everyone in the line of fire and it's safer for everyone, including Haven and
Cora, for them to have new identities and disappear. So, a raging attraction
and falling in love present quite an obstacle.
There are a lot of emotional ups and downs in this novel and
we grow with Haven as she begins to experience the peaks and valleys that are a
part of life. She has a certain amount of freedom now, but that doesn't mean
she isn't still bound but he decisions of others. It's a fascinating balance
and the author really puts things in a unique perspective. There are so many
things in life we take for granted, such little things. And, along with Haven,
I started to think about all of the small joys in life I tend to forget about.
When an MC novel is done right (like this one!), I think the
reader gets a true sense pf the family they are, of the brotherhood made of
loyalty and trust. Sometimes, I envy them, the amount of 'family' they have,
people to lean on, to celebrate and mourn with. I loved getting to know all of
the characters in the Ravens MC and I'm excited for more of their
stories!
I await the next Ravens story and until then...I'll have to
keep re-reading this one!
Thank you so much! ~Jessica, InkSlinger PR
