Rosie
They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They're right.
No one has ever made me feel more alive than the guy who serves as a constant reminder that my clock is ticking.
He is my forbidden, shiny apple.
The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.
He is also my sister's ex-boyfriend.
One thing you should know before you judge me;
I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.
Eleven years later, he waltzed into my life, demanding a second chance.
Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman. My white knight has finally arrived. Hopefully, he isn’t too late.
Dean
They say the brightest stars burn out the fastest. They’re right.
She sets my mind on fire.
All smart mouth, snarky attitude and a huge heart.
In a world where everything is dull, she shines like fucking Sirius.
Eleven years ago, fate tore us apart.
This time, I fucking dare it to try.
Getting to her is a battlefield, but man, that’s why they call me Ruckus.
Rosie LeBlanc is about to find out how hard I can fight.
And conquering her will be the sweetest victory.
Ruckus is book two in the Sinners of Saint Series. This is Rosie and Dean’s story and I couldn’t wait for it! Rosie is Millie’s little sister from book one. Millie and Dean dated for a few months in high school. I know sometimes that is just not a kind of read you want, but trust me this doesn’t have the ick factor. Its a genuine love story and you see how Millie feels about everything, heck you know if you read book one how she truly felt about Dean. Anyway, Rosie was actually the first to notice Dean and she became smitten by him. He was different from all the prep school jerks and she liked that. He seemed to enjoy life and kind go with the flow. But Rosie knew that she had to step back and watch him from afar. This book is their journey to finding love and trust.
I might’ve have been nicer than Vicious, but I was still a HotHole. I was still a sinner..and I was still the wolf her grandmamma warned her about.
Dean”Ruckus” Cole is the alpha bad boy with a charming smile. He can make you drop your panties with that smile and you won’t even realize you’ve done it! He’s the boy who seems the sweetest out of all the HotHoles, but I think he might be the cockiest and perviest(is that a word..lol.) He’s not the ass you think he would be and I am glad he wasn’t. He has so many layers and some demons from his past that NO ONE knows about. Why hide these secrets? When everything was revealed you begin to understand each layer that Dean starts to allow Rosie to see. We see the true Dean behind the mask...
Rosie sweet Rosie. She’s feisty and full of spirit, loyal and stubborn. She also feels suffocated by her family. All she wants is to be independent and free, but I understood where her family was coming from. All they wanted was for her to be safe and alive. Rosie has some difficult challenges in her life and CF is not a glamorous sickness. They want the best for her, however, I got that Rosie was tired of being babied. She wanted to experience what life had to offer her until her last breath. She didn’t want hearts and roses, she wanted life...
Love felt like dipping each other in gasoline and burning together. Love felt like dancing with madness in the dark, watching all of its bright lights. Love felt like gasping for air when your lungs were already full.
This book was romantic, funny and truth-provoking. Dean and Rosie completely consumed me from the first page. I took my time reading this because I wanted to savor them. I wanted to fully understand their characters and their struggles. LJ Shen brought all the ammo with this. She gutted me, she made me hate her, she made me laugh and she made me swoon. As each layer to Dean and Rosie dropped away, you saw that these two were perfect for one another. I hated Dean a few times, and Rosie grabbed my heart. But with the layers shedding you began to understand their actions, their truths and the love that they both share for each other. Their love was all consuming, and powerful. Years in the making and you felt those missed years.
You think I fucking like you? Are you kidding me here? I don’t like you. I love you. Even that’s an under-fucking-statement. I live for you. I breathe for you. I will die for you. It. Has. Always. Been. You.
I am glad that Dean was different then I thought he was going to be. I was worried that he would be another copy of Vicious, he has some similarities, yet he doesn’t. Rosie was just beautiful right from the start and I knew I would love her character. With these two coming at us full force you won’t stand a chance! I know I am rambling and I just can’t help it. My thoughts are still a jumbled mess days later. LJ Shen broke my heart with this book. It was everything I wanted and more. Her words just went straight to my heart and I could feel it squeezing.
I want to take a little moment to compliment her on how she handle CF. She gave us a character who was fighting, she gave us some truths to the disease and didn’t sugar coat it. Did she go into detailed information, no and I am glad she didn’t. Why because I felt Rosie trying to breath, I felt her struggle and I felt her fight. She didn’t want to die, but she knew the risks. In my eyes, it was done perfectly. I could go on, but LJ you brought a character alive for me in Rosie.
This is a series you want to read. The characters are entertaining, your emotions will be all over the place and its just that damn good! I can not wait for the audio on this series. You must read Vicious to completely understand the characters and the little flashbacks in this one. This felt real, if felt honest and you won’t have any regrets falling for these two. LJ Shen you continue to amaze me, please don’t stop! 5 Baby LeBlanc Stars! Oh two more things...yes we see our beloved HotHoles and I can’t wait for Trent’s story...YES!! The cover...Holy Crap its perfect!
5 STARS!
Love is not perfect, Life is not perfect. Yet, they’re both extremely beautiful things you should treasure every day.
LJ Shen...what in the hell! This woman is set out to kill her readers, I swear to you she is. I felt like my chest was going to explode from everything she put into these characters. Dean and Rosie...two people who are nothing alike, yet are complete one another. This was beautiful, angsty, funny and perfectly imperfect! You will shed tears, you will get angry, you will laugh out loud and you will swoon! Seriously, did you read the blurb?? Gutted from that! Ruckus is book two in the Sinners of Saint Series.
