5* #Review #Giveaway Taming Lily by @msmonicamurphy @wordsmithpublic

We're celebrating the release of TAMING LILY by Monica Murphy!

TAMING LILY (The Fowler Sisters #3) by Monica Murphy
Adult Contemporary Romance

BLURB:
I’m in trouble. Again. And instead of facing my problems head-on, I’ve run away. Far away this time, and no one can catch me—not my two younger sisters, Violet and Rose, not my father, my grandmother, or that witch Pilar who wants to take control of my family’s cosmetics company. Now I’m in Hawaii, enjoying the sun and sand and water, where nobody knows the hot mess known as Lily Fowler. And I’m loving every minute of it.

But someone is watching me. Following me. He’s gorgeous. Soon we’re talking, and against all my instincts, I reveal bits and pieces of myself to Max. It feels good, though I know he can’t be the man for me. These sudden feelings we share are way too complicated, too fraught, too intense.

Then everything explodes and I’m forced to return home. My intentions have always been true, but now everyone’s mad at me. I don’t know who to turn to anymore . . . except to Max. He’s the one I want to trust. But I’m not so sure I should. Maybe it’s worth the risk—what-ifs be damned. . . .

Review- 5 Stars

Taming Lily is my favorite in this series! Lily and Max are a stellar couple, and the way that the mystery wraps up from the first two books great. They can all be read as a standalone, but it’s always fun to get to know the characters and full backstories from the beginning.
Lily is a mess. She’s the ultimate black sheep and when things get tough, she gets going. She’s lost, feels unloved, underappreciated, and hopeless. She doesn’t have faith in love, doesn’t trust, and certainly doesn’t let anyone see the real Lily underneath the clothes, makeup, and outrageous attitude.  Her latest escapade sends her skedaddling to Hawaii to hide. Unbeknownst to her, the villain she is running from has sent someone to retrieve her laptop which contains damaging evidence.
Max is a lone wolf, even with family and friends, he lives in his own little solitude, beating himself up for the mistakes of the past. He’s been hired to retrieve a laptop he believes belongs to his client. However, from the first moment he sees Lily, he feels a spark, and it quickly grows into something deeper.
Max and Lily gravitate to each other and quickly become immersed in a vacation fling. Except, neither of them really wants it to end. The problem is that Lily is Max’s mark, and he has a job to do. If he doesn’t, the client might send someone who could hurt her, and he fears he will have betray her to keep her safe.
I have to say, Violet almost ruined Stealing Rose for me, however she was a pleasant character on the fringes of this book, and I liked her a lot more. This bumped Taming Lily up a whole lot of notches in my head. However, even without that consideration, I fell for Max and Lily harder than I did the other characters.
There is just something special about them. Max’s ability to accept his need for her and the potential they have as a couple, so quickly, just made me adore him even more. He becomes determined to make her happy, and to make her see that she needs him just as much as he needs her.
Max has an unbelievably delicious, dirty mouth. Holy hell, I was fanning myself constantly, hot, hot, hot. His control in the bedroom added to that mouth, and I burst into flames! And yet, through all that alpha yumminess, he treats Lily like she is precious and cares for her deeply. The steam mixed with the sweet is the ultimate combination to make me melt for these two.
The ending was just perfect for these two. The action gets wrapped up, although I must admit, the author did leave the tiniest bit of wiggle room with the antagonist for a future book. Though, I don’t know who it would be centered around. The HEA completes these two in their love, but also in their everyday lives. I loved walking away knowing that the world had righted itself for these two.
I would definitely read this again, and absolutely recommend it. 5 Dirty, delicious stars!
