Review- Worth Forgiving

Worth Forgiving
(MMA Fighter #3)
By Vi Keeland

Publication Date: Qugust 21, 2014
Genre: Adukt Romance/MMA

5 Stars!

From Goodreads:

They say men like a lady in the living room and a whore in the bedroom. I never knew the sentiment was reciprocal. Until I met Jax Knight. A gentleman in public, a commanding, dirty talking rogue in the bedroom.

Daughter of legendary fighter “The Saint,” Lily St. Claire knows firsthand how fighters can be. As the owner of a chain of MMA gyms, she’s no stranger to aggressive, dominating, and possessive men. That’s why she’s always kept her distance. But the day Jax Knight walks through her door she’s captivated by his charm. Stunningly handsome, well mannered, Ivy League educated, and confident, he shatters all the preconceived notions she’d come to think were true about men who trained to fight.

But falling for someone so soon after her breakup wasn’t something she’d planned on. And definitely not something her ex plans to allow.

I love this series. Worth Forgiving was an excellent conclusion, worthy of the first two book. I was always a die-hard Nico fan, but Jax is giving him a run for his money!

“Oh fuck this,’ I growl, taking the two strides to reach her quickly, finding all the emotions in her eyes that I feel deep inside of me. Lust. Need. Desire. Hunger so deep, it consumes me.
Walking us two steps until her back is to the wall, I reach down and lift her up easily. Pinning her body between mine and the wall, I wrap her legs around my waist and bury my face in her neck, breathing deeply to take in her scent.
Heat pulsating wildly through my veins, I pull my head back, dig my hips deeply into her parted legs so she can feel how hard she’s affecting me and claim her mouth in a kiss.”

Jax is just about everything you could want in a guy. He handsome as sin, wealthy, honest, sweet, and has the body of a fighter. *sigh* He is a complete gentleman until he gets Lily in the bedroom. His commanding and passionate attitude are enough to burn up the sheets! And oh, that dirty, dirty mouth…* I’m melting into a puddle…* He is determined not to be anything like his dishonest, cheating, slimy father, which just makes him all the more attractive. When Jax and his brother finally connect, they act like teenage boys, almost like they are trying to make up for lost time. It’s adorable!!! Yet another facet to Jax that had me falling even more in love with him. His possessiveness is just dominant enough to be HOT, without suffocating. He steps up to protect Lily from her dangerous ex and does his best to help her realize her dreams. Even though he “omitted” the fact that he was the sole investor for her gym, personally, I completely understood and would have done the same. I felt he was justified and that Lily reacted a little too strongly. She knew what his father was like, and after all that they had learned about each other, she should have known better. Enough to give him a chance to explain and find out what really happened. There is just no way Lily could have resisted this smooth talking devil.

“I pull her close to me, wrapping my arms around her tightly, wishing I could take away the pain I see buried deep. But for now, until she’s ready to give it to me to hold, I’ll just hold her tight.”

Lily is a little bit of a contradiction. However, this made more real, more human to me. She is strong, determined to keep her father’s dream alive and make it without him by her side. Her capacity for love is boundless and she falls into it with everything she’s got. While that trait is admirable, it can throw a wrench in plans to be independent if you let loss break you. This is what happened when her father died, her heart was crushed to a point where she could not function. Ultimately, in the end, it almost ruined her completely, killing the dream she was so desperate to hold on to. Caden, the man she was leaning on, is no one you want to mess with. Least of all Lily. Her approach towards him was starting to put a dent in my admiration of her character. She was so timid and guilt ridden (especially with Caden manipulating her kindness). She totally redeemed herself in my eyes when I realized that the core of her attitude was driven by a physical fear of him.
This book was fun to read. There were no moments when I thought, “will this scene ever end?” The ending was just what I needed to round out the series. It left me all warm and fuzzy!

Swoon… Jax

Melts my panties…

Melts my heart…

“Have you ever been in love?’ Quietly, I ask […]
He kisses my lips gently.
‘Have you?’ I ask again.
‘I think so.’ He kisses the corner of my mouth, then the other corner, before softly kissing the center of my mouth again. ‘Every day I become more sure.”

Review- Real by Katy Evans

Real
By Katy Evans

Published by: Smashwords Edition
Publication Date: April 8, 2013
Genre: New Adult/Adult Romance
5 Stars!

From Goodreads:

A fallen boxer.
A woman with a broken dream.
A competition…

He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…

Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.

He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .

But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.

I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.

If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?

I could not put this down. I loved it!

Remington Tate has been dealt a rough hand, but he forges on and attempts to find happiness with what he's got. Once look at Brook Dumas and he knows he's found a woman who can handle the ups and downs of his rollercoaster life. He's the star of the MMA underground, she's a sports therapist with failed Olympic dreams. Together, they find a way to heal each other and build a beautiful love story.

First of all, I am familiar with Remy's struggles and so his determination to succeed in life is incredibly admirable. Beyond that, is a tidal wave of lust. Remington is HOT HOT HOT!! I didn't always agree with his approach to his relationship with Brook. However, his anticipation of her reaction once his secret is revealed, is a valid fear. Not to mention, that when you have looks, money, and fame, it’s hard to know who is there for you rather than what you can give them.

“Why’d you want to have sex with me? To have a f*cking adventure? What was I supposed to be? Your one-night-f*cking stand? I’m every woman’s adventure, damn you, and I don’t want to be yours. I want to be your f*cking REAL. You get that? If I f*ck you, I want you to belong to me. To be mine. I want you to give yourself to me—not Riptide!” Remy

Remington seems completely rough and tough, but underneath is another layer. One so completely full of love and devotion, aching for a family, not realizing that he already has one because he believes himself to truly be unlovable. His adoration and love for Brook melted my heart. His raw, sexual pull had me fanning myself quite frequently.

“I'm so fucking in love with you I don't even know what to do with myself anymore.” Remy

Brook is a pretty great heroine. She is smart, strong, and focused. It takes a very special person to live with a man like Remy. She recognizes that Remington is an incredibly special man and proves she is a worthy companion for him. She had her moments where I was slightly annoyed by her childishness, but they were very limited. She comes to understand him and see that at his core, Remington is the best kind of man. She loves him with her whole being.

“I love him, Melanie. I love him He's not just a star, he's the whole fucking sky to me. He's the sun and every planet in this galaxy.” Brooke

The fight scenes were well choreographed and most of them contributed to the story, however I could have done without a couple of the detailed fight scenes. We didn’t always need the blow by blow. I will say though, it wasn't ever so much that I felt like rolling my eyes and skipping ahead.

This book is sexy, gritty, and panty dropping hot. Find a fan before you start to read it. I think you'll find that Remington Tate will be starring in your dreams quite frequently.

“You’ve claimed me, little firecracker. You kicked a pair of two hundred pound men’s asses. I will never get over that. You kicked my whores out. Pete told me. You staked your claim on me, even before you realized I’d staked mine already.” He fists my hair and pulls me close to his lips. “I’m yours now … Even if I screw this up, I’ll still be your screw-up.” Remy
