As always, Melissa Foster gives us a great read and leaves us longing for more of the Bradens. I have no idea how Melissa Foster does it, but she always manages to give us a great read about the Braden family and make the characters have their own life while incorporating the other Braden's back into the story. There is no way that I could do what she does, but I am so glad that I get to enjoy and read her awesome writing!
In this Braden's book, we get the story of Shannon Braden. After a visit back home, Shannon is ready to spread her wings and see what is out in the world for her. Shannon goes to Colorado where she is put on a mission to find out about fox's. At her cousin's wedding that she is attending, Shannon runs into Steve, an old flame and come to find out, they are working on some of the same things. Steve is a wildlife consultant and goes with Shannon on her first trip to find out what she can about the fox's. When the old sparks begin to ignite between Shannon and Steve again, they are both surprised at how well they can fall back into things with each other.
Although things begin to feel comfortable with Steve and Shannon once again, Steve is determined not to fall for Shannon and her ways again. He know that it will only lead to heartache again and he is not up for that. How does he keep his feelings at bay for Shannon when they are working together as much as they are though? When a ranch next to the National Park that Steve works at goes up for sale, he is determined to find a way to buy it so that someone won't come in there and buy it and ruin it for the National Park. He does not want it in the wrong hands at all. Shannon comes up with a way for Steve to raise the funds to buy it, but he is going to need a lot of help from her to make it happen. Is it worth it for Steve?? Is there any other way to raise the money besides working more with Shannon?
This is a great read that flowed really well and kept your attention throughout the whole thing. I have fallen in love with all the Braden's and Shannon is no exception. All the characters seem to be so down to earth and I can relate to them on so many levels. I am so glad that Melissa Foster has given us this great series and I have to say that I am going to be so sad when it comes to an end but I have faith that she will have something else up her sleeve for us readers to keep us entertained!
