Book Description:
The last time Piper Ross saw her best friend’s sexy older brother, Jase Simmons, he was being taken away in handcuffs. Seven years later, two things haven’t changed: Piper is still head-over-heels in love with him . . . and Forrestville’s chief of police—Piper’s dad—still hates his guts. So when Piper sees a chance to get close to Jase, she makes her move—literally. As his new roommate, and as the office manager of his tattoo shop, Piper won’t be satisfied until Jase knows that she wants to be his.

The quintessential good girl, Piper is pure temptation for Jase. The only reason he’s always kept his distance is because she’s the last person he’d ever want to hurt. But once he realizes that Piper is ready to take the leap, everything just makes sense. Suddenly Jase feels like a new man—until nasty rumors start swirling and Piper’s heartless father stirs up even more trouble. Now Jase must convince Piper that she wasn’t wrong about him . . . because falling in love never felt so right.

Review - 5 Stars!
I loved this book. It can be read as a standalone, but after I read the first book in the series, I was so excited to read Jase and Piper’s story! In my opinion, this one was even better than the first.
Jase hasn’t had an easy life, growing up with a drug addict who eventually overdosed, spending 7 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, and wanting a woman he can never have.
Piper’s life hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows either. Her struggles are just different. She grew up being told and shown that she was never good enough, constantly forced to be someone she’s not, and never given the opportunity to do things that make her happy. Not to mention, being in love with her best friend’s brother, but having no confidence to go after him.
Finally, Piper has had enough. She moves out of her parent’s house and it determined to make it on her own. Along with this new found confidence is the will to go after the man of her dreams.
Jas is out of prison and attempting to make a life for himself, always aware that he will never escape the stigma of his past and never have the woman of his dreams. So, it hits him over the head and on his ass when Piper pursues him. He fights it at first, resolute in the fact that he will never be good enough for her and he will only drag her down.
When they both finally give in to their feelings for each other, it’s clear that this will be a tough road. They have to face reality that being together in the face of a world that is against them, will be a true test to whether they can build a future together.
These characters are complex in their own way, and yet, I found their personalities and motivations simple enough that I could empathize easily with them. I loved that Jase didn’t spend the entire book fighting against his need for Piper. That can get very monotonous and frustrating when it’s dragged out too long. Once he’s in, he’s all in and I loved that about him. Piper was always dedicated to finding a future with Jase, and the backbone she grows just made me like her more and more with every page. They aren’t without fault or insecurities, but they are fighters.
One of the things that truly impressed me was the way the author made these two fit together. They are as different as night and day, but somehow, it never seemed like it. Instead, they just fit together like two puzzle pieces, neither one being forced to modify their shape to slip into that connection.
And, let’s not forget the physical connection. OMG! The chemistry between these two is off the charts. Jase’s dirty mouth is sexy as hell. I had to fan myself to get away from the heat blasting off of the pages.
I can’t tell you enough great things about this book. There is some mystery, fun, great characters, and steamy goodness. It’s definitely on my re-read list, in fact, I could have gone back to the beginning and started it all over again. I highly recommend both books in this series! I don’t know who could be next, but I sincerely hope that this author continues with the series. Until then, I’m on  a mission to read everything she’s written!
