5* #Review #Giveaway Ball Peen Hammer by Lauren Rowe @RSofRomance

Ready the Pickles,  Keane Morgan is finally here!

Meet Keane in this STANDALONE romantic comedy!
(No Prior reading required)

BPH Amazon.jpg

Keane Morgan wouldn’t return any of my calls or texts, and I was pissed as hell about it. I didn’t want to drive from Seattle to L.A. with the guy any more than he wanted to drive with me, but I had no frickin’ choice in the matter--at least, not if I wanted to use his brother Dax’s coveted parking spot at UCLA.

Okay, so it turned out Keane was objectively gorgeous, and, fine, pretty funny, too. But did he have to be so damned in love with himself? I mean, jeez, the cocky way he flashed those dimples was just so orchestrated. And, honestly, what kind of guy uses the phrase “baby doll” with a straight face? Oh, that’s right: the kind of guy who’s a male stripper.

Yup, the cocky jerk turned out to be Seattle’s answer to Magic Mike, a stripper known as “Ball Peen Hammer”--which meant Keane Morgan was emphatically not the kind of guy I’d ever fall for.

Not. At. All.

No freakin’ way.

Well, until Keane convinced me to fall for him, that is.

Which I did.

Review - 5 Stars!

And that's it.  I'm one.  ut a fork in me.  I'm done.  I've got to have him
This is my first read by Lauren Rowe and let me tell you she had me rolling in laughter.  This was just not like anything I've ever read.  I went into this totally blind and let me tell you, I'm still smiling from the interactions between the characters.
This story follows Seattle's Mr. Magic Mike himself Keane Morgan aka Ball Peen Hammer and sweet, shy up and coming film extrodinarie Maddy Milken.  Total opposites yet soul
Keane is cocky, funny, and total ladies man.  But that's not the real person ehe is.  Deep down he's still reeling from his future being torn away before his eyes.  Underneath the BPH persona he's sweet, tells it like it is,
Maddy is shy, sweet, smart, but yet has a secret inner Maddy.  Secret Maddy is funny, feisty and full of wit.  I adored her.  In the words out of Zander and Keane she's adorbsicles.  What surprised me most about Maddy was she has this inner beauty as well as outer beauty.  She's so down to earth, but hides behind a mask of sorts.
Maddy and Keane were a joy to read.  The sexual attraction and tension is not right off the bat.  It's a slow build and I enjoyed watch everything unfold.  Once they connect, there is no stopping them.  It was electrifying!  The conversations these two have are so off the charts and all over the place, you can't help but want more between them.
Find yourself a dude who makes your pulse race and let him bone the livin' fuck outta ya 'til you're screaming your own name 'cause you don't even know his.
The secondary characters especially Zander aka wifey and Hannah(Maddy's sister) had me laughing just as much.  Keane and his family, man the text messages between them will have you rolling.  The dynamic of the secondary characters adds more flavor to the story.
The story was sexy, lighthearted, hilarious just an all around great read.  You will find yourself immersed into the story and won't want to put it down.  Lauren Rowe did a fantastic job with the story, the characters.  Everything flows, you can picture the scenes and hear the characters voices.  I highly recommend this!
 5 Hammer Time Stars!

As they exchange information, I make my way to the end of my aisle and loop into theirs, not taking my eyes off Baby Face the whole time. Shit. This dude’s hunting Maddy so hard, it’s making my blood boil. Jesus, he’s going full-throttle rifle on Maddy’s ass right now, completely foregoing his crossbow altogether.
When I reach the two of them in the middle of their aisle, I shuffle past the dude and stand next to Maddy, shoulder to shoulder, and then, on a sudden impulse, put my arm around her shoulders and squeeze her tight, making her wobble in place at the unexpected jolt to her balance. “Hey, sis,” I say, squeezing her like a rag doll. “You totally fell down on your candy-acquiring duties.”
“I know. I’m sorry.” She subtly wiggles out of my grasp. “Brian and I got into this hilarious argument about the best candy bar of all- time, and—”
“And I’m totally right,” Brian says, cutting her off, and they both chuckle at some inside joke.
“No, I’m totally right,” Maddy corrects.
Brian smiles at her. “I’ll actually be down in L.A. in a month. How ’bout I call you then?”
“Nice to meet you, man,” Brian says, looking at me. He nods but doesn’t put out his hand.
I nod back.
Brian strolls away, buys a Snickers bar and a can of Red Bull, and leaves with a little wave to Maddy.
The minute he’s out the door, Maddy takes a giant step away from me, her face etched with annoyance. “What was that?” she asks.
“That weird thing you just did?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Maddy puts on an exaggerated scowl, like she’s Hulk Hogan eying an opponent. “’Hey, Brian,’” she says in a low voice, clearly intending to imitate me but sounding more like Arnold Schwarzenegger imitating Maddy imitating me. “’I’m Maddy Milliken’s bodyguard and I’m going to beat you the hell up now,’” she adds.
“What are you talking about?” I say, chuckling.
Maddy pauses, assessing me, and finally shrugs. “Nothing. I guess I imagined it.”
“Imaged what?”
“Your weird... I dunno... vibe.”
“Oh, well, yeah. I was worried about you.”
“Worried about me? I was standing in a minimart, buying candy. Pretty low-risk activity, I’d say.”
“Uh, you absolutely were not standing in a minimart, buying candy—you totally fell down on that job, dude. You were standing in a minimart, getting picked up by a douche. And second of all—”
Shit. What the fuck am I doing? I’ve got to stop this shit right now. “Don’t get riled up, baby doll,” I say in my most soothing voice. “All I’m saying is you took so damned long in here, I started thinking maybe the store was getting robbed or you’d fallen into the toilet or something.”
Maddy twists her mouth. “Brian didn’t seem the least bit douchey to me.”
I shrug.“What gave you the impression he’s a douche?”
“Just a figure of speech. So are you gonna do the job I hired you to do or not?” I motion to the candy rack. “‘Cause based on your performance thus far, you’re totally fired.”
“And I wasn’t getting ‘picked up,’” Maddy says, her tone full of indignation. “Brian’s brother goes to UCLA. Can’t I talk to a helpful, nice guy without it being some sort of a sleazy pick-up?”
“Sure you can. However, in this instance, you were talking to a helpful, nice guy who was picking you up so he can bone the living fuck outta ya.”
Keane.” Maddy’s cheeks burst with color. “Don’t say that. Oh my god. You’re insane. Brian was just being helpful, that’s all.”
“Yeah, so he can bone the living fuck outta ya.”
“Stop saying that. Please. It’s offensive and absolutely not true. This topic of conversation is officially over.”

Every family has its secrets…

As the first anniversary of her marriage to Vice President Nick Cappuano approaches, Lieutenant Sam Holland is dreaming of Bora Bora—sun, sand and a desperately needed break from the DC grind. But real life has a way of intervening, and Sam soon finds herself taking on one of the most perplexing cases of her career.

Government worker Josh Hamilton begs Sam to investigate his shocking claim that his parents stole him from another family thirty years ago. More complicated still, his “father” is none other than the FBI director. When a member of Josh’s family is brutally murdered, Sam begins to question how deep this cover-up goes. Is it possible the revered director was part of a baby-napping ring and that others involved are also targets?

With a killer intent on deadly revenge and her team still reeling from a devastating loss, Sam’s plate is full—and when Nick and their son, Scotty, take ill, is her dream of a tropical anniversary celebration in peril too?

REVIEW - 5 Stars!

This book was fabulous! This was my first time reading a book in Marie Force’s Fatal series and I have to say, I was a tiny bit lost at times because I haven’t read the others. However, it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book AT ALL. Instead, it made me anxious to go back and read the rest! And now I’ll be on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens with these characters next.

One of the things that I absolutely loved about this book is that it isn’t just about one couple. I wouldn’t have expected to like having my focus split from the main H and h. But, it’s minor deviations that keep you invested in the entire cast of characters. Like I said, I can’t wait to go back and learn about them all from the beginning. Each of them captured a piece of my heart, making me laugh, cry, and love right along with them.

Nick and Sam though…I adore this couple. Their relationship is not only incredibly hot, it’s sweet and devoted. And, it’s not perfect. The world doesn’t stop with “happily ever after,” life goes on and it’s messy and full of ups and downs. But, they handle the situations beautifully.

Sam is a spitfire. Her sarcastic wit, sharp intellect, and dedication to her job make for one hell of a woman. Oh, and then there is the fact that she is incredibly beautiful. I want to be her. She does seem to attract trouble though… Following her on this journey was really fun.

Nick is everything you want in a hero. Smart, witty, supportive, loving, strong, possessive (but, not too much), deliciously sexy, a good dad, etc. etc. etc. Do I really need to go on? Those alone should have you running to the bookstore.

The storyline is intense, in the best way. Filled with action and intrigue, it’s is clear the author has done her research because it never felt clichĂ© or over the top. It’s interesting without overwhelming me with terms and information I can’t understand. The book is fast paced and kept me glued to the pages the whole way through.

I highly, highly, recommend this book! I haven’t even read the other books and I would still recommend the whole series! I do suggest you read them in order as all 10 books are about the same couple, but, it isn’t necessary to enjoy this book. I can already tell that this whole series will be on my re-read shelf!

“No way. I can change your mind.”
“I have no doubt you could, but you’re not going to. One more day won’t kill you.”
“It just might, and think about how bad you’ll feel if it does.”
Sam rolled her eyes. “Shameless manipulation will get you nowhere tonight.”
His low growl made her laugh.
“I’ve spoiled you rotten in our first year of marriage,” she said, “and now you’re downright unmanageable.”
He took her hand and pressed it against his cock. “I’m very manageable. Give me what I want, and you’ll see just how manageable I can be.”
She leaned in close to him, so close that her lips nearly touched his. “Not. Happening.”
“This is cruel and unusual punishment.”
“No, this is me being a good wife and making sure you’re totally healed before I ravage you.”
He scowled. “You can’t say no in one breath and then talk about ravaging me in the next. Not fair.”
“It’ll give you something to look forward to tomorrow. And PS, pouting is not an attractive quality for a vice president.”
“I’m not the vice president right now. I’m a horny husband with an uncooperative wife.”
“Whatever! I’m the most cooperative wife in the history of the world.”
“Most of the time…”
Before she could respond to that, her phone rang. She checked the caller ID, saw Avery’s name and took the call.
“I’m at Hamilton’s house. He’s been murdered.”
At first, his words didn’t compute. And then they registered, taking her breath away in a whoosh. “How?”
