I love the Seaside Summers series and Melissa Foster. There is just something about getting lost in a great story that make you feel good and this was definitely one of those for me! I love that these are all standalones, but have some connection with all the characters as well. Very well done!
This story is about Grayson and Parker. Grayson has been apart of the crew that we have know in these books all along. Grayson is another great Alpha Male that will leave you swooning over the way that he treats his women. When Grayson is supposed to meet up with Parker, he has assumed that she had the same feeling for him as he did for her those first few times they saw each other, but when Parker does not show up, Grayson wonders if he read the signals wrong. Grayson has no idea what is going on with Parker not showing up but decides to leave it alone.
One day when Grayson is in town, he runs into Parker. Surprise, surprise! Parker is there to try and get over loosing her best friend and mentor Bert. Bert is the one who got Parker into the business that she is in now. He believed in Parker and was the only person that Parker could even begin to call family. Parker is determined to go to Bert's brother who is dying and let him know how good of a person Bert was since they did not talk very much at all.
Parker thinks that she is going to stay in and drown herself in junk food to get over her grief, but Grayson won't hear of it. He goes and gets Parker and takes her out of the house one night and it ends up being one of the best nights that Parker has had in a long time. The sparks are still there so Grayson did not read the signals wrong in the first place. Parker and Grayson instantly connect again and hit it off better than before.
Grayson is determined to stand by Parker's side and is not going to let her go talk to Bert's brother alone. He accompanies her and sticks up for her on several occasions as well. He also lets Parker make up her own mind about when to leave and when to stay which I loved about Grayson. He was just there for her and stood by her side.
When Grayson takes it upon himself to take action in finding out if Parker has any family left, has he crossed the line with her? Will Parker wake up and see that Grayson only wants what is best for her or will it be too late? This is such a great story that will keep you entertained right up until the end. I love all of Melissa Foster's stories because they are so well written. I can't wait for more in this series!
