New Release!! Bigger Thank the Sky by Harper Bentley

Bigger Than the Sky (Serenity Point #1)
By Harper Bentley
Release Date: Sept 30, 2014

Synopsis

Five years ago, I left my fiancĂ©, hotter than hot Navy SEAL Kade Kelly, at the altar.
No, I’m not an idiot.
Yes, I had my reasons.
Now I’ve made a new life for myself working at a large firm in Richmond and I’ve left the past behind. Or so I thought.
Upon returning to my hometown of Serenity Point, Virginia, to take care of some business, I find that Kade’s now home for good and he’s none too happy about my being here.
Two months. That’s all I’m staying then I’m out of here. Unless I believe the town’s pink-haired psychic’s prediction. Or embrace the sense of belonging I feel at being back home. Or give in to the emotions stirring inside when Kade's attention is suddenly on me.
He scares the crap out of me.
He thrills me.
He used to tell me our love was bigger than the sky.

I always knew ours was a once-in-a-lifetime love. So how can he be so sure it can happen again?

Excerpt

I’m hearing that submarine warning horn in my ears. You know the one. It goes A-ooooo-ga! And that shit’s going off in my head over and over. I think it means the sub’s diving, as in, it’s going down. And that’s my warning right now because likely, I’m going down.
I clutch the sides of my dress and think, I can’t do this!
But that’s not how today’s supposed to go, is it?
What I’m supposed to do is go inside that church, take my bouquet (which is fabulous, by the way) from Cassie, my maid of honor, and walk down the aisle to my handsome fiancĂ© who’s waiting for me in front of the altar.
But now I stand at the bottom of the church steps and suddenly can’t catch my breath. Papaw takes my hand and I smile at him weakly as he helps me up the first step and the horn suddenly stops.
Well. That’s weird. Maybe I can do this.
Second step. Hm. Better. Feeling Papaw’s hand in mine is comforting. All right. I think I’ve got this now. Piece of cake.
Third step. Oh, no. I start sweating. I can’t be sweating right now, damn it! It’s so unladylike! And I’ll get those crusty, yellowy stains on my dress from my armpits! Gross!
Fourth step. Shit! I can’t breathe. The panic has a grip on me and no matter what I do to try to calm myself and get it to let me go—closing my eyes, focusing on my breathing, picturing myself getting a full-body massage from some cute guy named Sven—it seems to dig its claws in tighter. Mayday!
On Deck. A-ooooo-ga! A-ooooo-ga! Ack! I’m going down! I gulp for air trying to fill my lungs but nothing helps. I look at Papaw but I guess my lack of air is making me hallucinate because it’s not him holding my hand and smiling at me but Viper from the movie Top Gun. What the hell?
Soooo I’m hoping you’ve noticed the Navy theme here? That’s because a Navy SEAL is waiting inside to marry me but all this stuff going on right now is messing with my head.
Let me give you the low down on the situation. Or is it the down low? Ugh. I’m so not hip. Wait. Do people still say hip anymore? God. See what living with grandparents does to a girl? I’m twenty-five and I talk like I’m twice my age. Jeez. But back to what I was trying to tell you.
My guy and I have been together since I was a sophomore and he was a senior in high school. But he’s now been enlisted in the Navy for nine years, most of it spent training to be then going on missions as a SEAL, and in all that time I’ve seen him maybe a total, a total, of a little over a year. In nine years! I’m not kidding. Since I’m a CPA I’ll figure that out for you. Out of nine years, he’s been gone almost ninety percent of the time. Can you see the face I’m making at that right now?
Anyway, now’s such a fantastic time to be figuring that out, huh?
I’m not a needy or clingy person. I mean, obviously, right? If I were, I would never have even considered marrying him, but now the alarms are going off in my head because suddenly I don’t know if I can do this. How can you make a life with someone when you only get to see them for just over one month out of the year? Like I said, I don’t have to have a man around all the time, but those statistics are just crazy.
I know you’re wondering why I even let it get this far without doing the math and here’s the answer: I don’t know! Thought you were gonna get a better answer, didn’t you? Well, if I don’t know it, I damned sure can’t tell it to you!
But maybe the answer is that I love him. I really do. Honestly. So now I’m thinking that maybe the idea of being married was what pushed me forward. Or maybe I just got caught up in planning it all—picking out the dress, the bouquet, all that fun stuff—and it kept me distracted for a while. But now that I’m here and about to walk through these doors and down the aisle to become his wife, with the numbers stacked so hugely against me, I don’t think I can.
I look up at Papaw and shake my head. He frowns in confusion but when he sees the tears in my eyes, he knows. He nods and lets my hand go. “Go to him, honey. Tell him.”
But I can’t. I can’t face him after all this.
And the only thing I know to do is run.

So that’s what I do.

Blog Tour + Excerpt! Devil Disguised by Karolyn Howard

Devil Disguised
By

Karolyn Howard
Release Date: May 23, 2014

A dark cloud hovers over Lady Lily Montgomery. Her future is no longer her own. She is betrothed to a man she cannot recall meeting, and worse; many close to her have perished under mysterious circumstances. For her protection, her guardian sends her away from London to stay with his friend, Lord Duncan Cavanaugh, the Earl of Westbrook. Duncan is not convinced Lady Lily is a virtuous victim and steels himself to unearth what lies beneath her beauty and boldness. Does she orchestrate the tragic deaths of those close to her or is someone covering his or her tracks too well? He vows to solve this deadly mystery and to ignore her charming spell. As he begins to uncoverthe truth, Duncanmust decide if Lily is an angel of misfortune or the devil in disguise.
An arm was raised near him and he reached for the arm as he spun and pushed the intruder into the wall. He heard a gasp as he shoved the intruder into the wall and pressed his body forward holding the arm above him. His body shifted against surprisingly feminine curves. Shifting, he looked down to see Lily's eyes widen in fear as he held her arm above her head and the dagger at her throat.
He stepped away immediately. "Lily! What the hell are you doing?"
She looked down and replied, "I heard a noise."
"You should have woken me and not come down here by yourself," he whispered harshly.
Even in the dim moonlight he could feel her penetrating stare. She shifted the candlestick she carried and placed it under her arm as she rubbed the wrist that he had just held.
"I wanted to be certain someone was there before I alerted anyone. A strange noise should not instantly cause alarm," she scoffed.
"Did I hurt you?" Duncan asked as he watched her continue to rub her wrist.
She shook her head and looked away from him again, as if embarrassed. Duncan's eyes adjusted to the dim light and he looked over her to make sure she was uninjured. He gaped. She wore a white nightgown, but her entire form was visible through the nearly transparent material. The perfection of her form did not surprise him, but seeing her nipples harden and the dark triangle between her legs was about to undo him. She was an angel who could tempt the devil himself.
He gently placed his hand on her shoulder and said, "Stay here."
His voice sounded much harsher than he intended, but he watched Lily shake her head.
"No. I will be safer with you."
Duncan opened his mouth to protest, but his stomach tightened at the confidence of her words.
"Fine. Stay behind me and try to be quiet."
He moved forward and then reached behind him as he felt her delicate hand move into his. Staying close to the wall, they moved together towards the kitchen. They went behind a wall near the library and he saw someone moving towards them. He put his finger to his lips to signal Lily to be silent as he crotched down and then leapt on the person, slamming them down on the ground.
The man cried out, "Villain!"
Then the man swung and struck Duncan on the side of the face.
His cheek stung as he recognized his butler's voice. "Simon, you fool, it's me!"
"Oh, my lord! Beg your pardon, sir!"
Duncan moved off Simon and they stood up together. "What the hell are you doing?"
Simon replied, "I heard a noise and came to investigate."
"So did I. What did you find?"
"Nothing, but the back door was open and I am certain it was closed before. I was going to search the grounds when I heard another noise in the hallway, which I assume now, was you."
Duncan nodded as he saw Simon gape as he turned towards Lily. "My lady!"
If Duncan had a coat he would have taken it off and thrown it over her. Simon looked at Duncan obviously at a loss for further words and then removed his robe. Handing the robe to Lily, he said, "Please, for you."
Taking the robe from his butler, she blushed and said, "Thank you."
Duncan said, "Simon, check the grounds. I will take Lady Montgomery back up to her room and I will check on Eleanor."
Simon nodded and walked away from them. Duncan turned and looked at Lily. "We should go."
She shook her head. "Wait."
"Must you always challenge me," he asked harshly.
"I just think you need some ice for your cheek."
She gently touched his face where Simon had struck him and then pulled her hand back swiftly as if she touched fire. Glancing over him, she appeared uneasy before she stepped back.
He took a deep breath and said, "I will take care of it later, but I appreciate your concern."
Duncan took her elbow to lead her upstairs. As much as he would enjoy her administrations, he needed to get her as far away from him as possible. He opened her door and did a quick check of her bedroom. Satisfied no one was in the room, he stopped in the doorway as he felt her hand gently touch his arm. She whispered, "Thank you."
Turning to face her, he sighed before he said, "If you hear a noise in the future, please wake me or one of the staff." He stepped back slightly into the hallway. "Also, Lily, please remember to wear a robe if you venture out in the middle of the night."
She narrowed her eyes as she placed one fist on her hip. "Certainly, as long as you remember to wear a shirt!"

She glared at him just before she slammed the door in his face.

Leighton Riley

Release Date: Oct 16, 2014

Pre-Order

How do you heal after everything has been ripped away from you?
Completely devastated and alone, Tristen cannot fathom life after losing Cami and his unborn child. He attempts to find normality in his broken world but everything seems wrong.
Aria is compelled to help Tristen and cannot escape the undeniable connection she feels for him, even though Cami was one of her closest friends. She tries to help him move forward by befriending him but quickly realizes that there is more.

Tristen and Aria are both struggling to deal with these confusing emotions. Can they find happiness even when they feel utterly broken?

“You being on top of me, naked, doing that turns me the fuck on, Mica.  I’m trying to be a gentleman here, but I am dying to be inside you right now,” I answered.
“Yeah?”
“Hell yeah, baby.”  I moved her a little lower so she was sitting on my hard cock.  She jumped once she felt my undeniable arousal underneath her cheeks.
“Oh!  Oh, I’m sorry!  Does it hurt for me to sit on it?”  She furrowed her brows in worry.

I would laugh if she weren’t dead serious.  Poor thing.  “Does it hurt for your pussy to be sitting on my hard cock? Babe, it only aches because it’s under you and not in you.  Wanna fix that problem?”  I grasped her hips and lifted just a touch so that she could feel me move beneath her slick entrance.  If I wanted to, I could have slid right in; she was slick in her own juices from the orgasm I had just given her.

Texas born and raised, I found my love for dirty books rather recently.  I work in real estate for my day job and I write contemporary romance with a twist of suspense and erotica.  Sinfully, my debut novel was released in June 2014 with Regretfully following up in October of 2014.  Tate’s story, Deceitfully, will finish off the series and will be out in spring of 2015. I get asked a lot about if there’s any connection to Sinfully and my life.  I do go to Las Vegas often but I swear I don’t have as much fun as Payton does.  Although, if I found myself a Tate there, I might change my opinion…

So when her label slots her for a Grammy performance with the sexy and soulful Jason Monroe, she can’t help but entertain certain fantasies... those in which her G-string gets more play than her guitars'.
Only one problem. Jason is a lyrical lone wolf that isn’t happy about sharing the stage—nor his ranch — with the sassy singer. But while it may seem like a song entitled ‘Jason Monroe Is an Arrogant Ho’ basically writes itself, their label and their millions of fans are expecting recording gold…

They’re expecting The Duet.

Whattup Boss. Just an update about the meeting tomorrow with Global Records. It’s still at 8:00 A.M. at their downtown offices, but now Jason Monroe will be there as well. They haven’t briefed me about what they’ll be discussing with you guys, but I thought I’d give you a heads up incase you wanted to forget to wear a bra or something. I’ve attached a photo of him, just as a reminder of how seriously hot he is. (You’re welcome.)

          Your badass assistant,
          Summer

PS. Let’s get lunch after your meeting so we can go over tour stuff.

I laughed and rolled my eyes. Some people might argue that my relationship with my thirty-year-old assistant crossed boundaries, but Summer had bright purple hair and usually sported black on black for all occasions. I don’t think I could have reined her in even if I tried. Not to mention, she got shit done and made me laugh while she did it, so I didn’t see any problems.
“Oh, no way. You have a meeting with Jason Monroe tomorrow? That guy can seriously rock,” the Brazilian model said over my shoulder. I hadn’t even realized he’d slid over to my bench while I was reading my email. Creepy.
I turned my phone away quickly, hoping he hadn’t had enough time to read the rest of the email where Summer had attached a shirtless photo of Jason. If so, I was going to have to find the guys from Men in Black so that I could use that pen thing to erase his memory.
“Oh um, yeah, we’re under the same music label,” I answered nonchalantly, trying to read his features for any tell of whether he read the bra-less comment.
“That guy has soul, have you seen his acoustic performances?” he asked, seemingly more interested in the idea of Jason Monroe than the idea of having sex with me. Something was wrong with this picture. “He headlined ACL and Coachella last year.”
I rolled my eyes and dropped my phone back into my purse. The rest of the ride to my condo, and even as we rode the elevator up to my floor, I wondered what the record label had up their sleeves concerning me and the seriously sexy, Jason Monroe. (Yes, of course, I went back to look at the photo Summer had sent me in the email. Here’s a hint: he was on stage at a music festival with his guitar. His eyes were closed, sweat was dripping down his neck, his brown hair was disheveled, and he was singing a song with every bit of soul he had in him. I couldn’t look away until the Brazilian model literally pried the phone out of my hand.)

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things... everyday.

Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
