Chef R.G. Emanuelle and sous chef Andi Marquette locked themselves in the kitchen to create a menu that would explore the sensuous qualities of food and illustrate how the act of preparing and eating it can engage many more senses than simply taste and smell. They gathered a great group of cooks who put together an array of dishes, and they present to you here a menu that ranges from sweet and romantic to sultry and seductive, from relationships enjoying a first taste to those that have moved beyond the entrée.

Each story also ends with a recipe. Some of these require cooking implements while others are whimsical accompaniments that don’t require cooking at all—at least not in the traditional sense. After all, food serves as more than sustenance—it’s a trigger for love, laughter, sex, pleasure, and carnal and sensory satisfaction. Whatever your palate prefers, you’re sure to find something tasty here.

“Crème Brûlée”, by Sacchi Green

The newcomers seemed to be busy building a fire of driftwood on the beach. I moved my car to the far end of the parking lot. In the glow of the overhead light I leaned over the front seat into the back to get y treasures out of the chilly container. Raf took the opportunity to knead my upturned butt and tease between my thighs, but with a steel-willed effort I got the ramekins safely onto a towel folded on the front seat between us.

“Crème brûlée!” I said triumphantly. “Have you ever had it?”

“Just seen it on restaurant menus a time or two without paying attention. What’s it mean? Bruised cream?”

“That sounds intriguingly kinky, but no. More like broiled cream. The top is covered with raw sugar, melted under a broiler or a propane torch, and then it hardens like glass.” I dug some plastic spoons out of the side pocket on the door where I tend to shove them when I get drive-through coffee.

“Dig in,” I said, knowing what would be likely to happen. Raf’s spoon broke on the mottled golden surface.

“You’re the stonecutter in this crew, she said. “You do it.”

I took out my pocketknife, covered it in plastic wrap that had protected the desserts, and brought it down hard on one sugar-glazed portion. Cracks rayed out, letting glimpses of the inner custard show through. “That’s yours. Now you break my shell.”

She did it with one hand, while the other pulled my head close for a long, sensuous kiss. Finally, she pulled away. “So did I break through?”

I couldn’t even remember whether we’d done anything as slow and sweet as kissing last year. “Oh, yeah.” I was breathless. “No shell left at all.”

“Looks like some crunchy bits left in the dishes.” She took my spoon and scooped up some of the rich creamy custard along with fragments of sugar glaze. “Mmm. Now I know what you see in this. Such rich, smooth cream inside that stony exterior.” She took another bite, then offered me one. We alternated with the spoon, feeding each other, until the last bites were accidentally-on-purpose smeared across our lips. The licking and kissing that followed got us so revved up that driving all the way back to Wellfleet without relief was out of the question, so I pulled off at the Pilgrim Springs Trail parking lot, mercifully unoccupied.

Review & Giveaway! The Australian by @LesleyYoungBks @TastyBookTours

The Australian
Crime Royalty Romance # 2
By: Lesley Young
Releasing March 27, 2015
Self-Published
Blurb

Charlie Sykes takes everything and everyone at face value—and believes life would be a lot easier if everyone else did, too. Aussie Jace Knight, international hotelier and purported playboy, has never met anyone like the absurdly literal and beautiful American who applies for his personal assistant position. The trouble is, how do you pursue a woman whose definition of flirting comes straight out of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary? That, and he’s not the only one after Charlie. Seems Mr. Knight might not be a reformed criminal after all.

Soon, Charlie’s immersed in a whirlwind of international espionage that takes her from the hip streets of Sydney to the majestic Great Barrier Reef and the wild, desolate outback. A dangerous trap’s being set, but how will Charlie protect herself and prevent a tragic betrayal, when she can’t even sort out what her heart’s telling her?

Charlie is a young lady that has just dealt with her mother dying and has decided to pick up and move to Australia for a new start. She has no other family and just a best friend back in the states that she talks to, so moving to Australia is not a big deal for her. Charlie takes her cat with her and that is her most prized possession. Charlie finds a small place and finds a job without too many problems when she gets to Australia. Charlie’s new boss may be another issue all together for her because Jace stirs feelings within Charlie that she has never felt before. Charlie is a very bright young lady but been hidden away socially seems like. The way that she speaks to Jace and interacts with him will have you shaking your head and wondering where she has been.

Jace is a very wealthy man and has in his past been involved with some mafia/mobster type of business but is trying to turn his life around. When Jace hires Charlie, his life sort of takes a turn other than what he had planned. At first Charlie plays hard to get and Jace respects her wishes, but on the first business trip Charlie goes on with Jace, things change drastically. Charlie practically begs Jace to help her with her release (as she calls it) and Jace warns Charlie that as soon as they cross that bridge, there is no turning back for him. Jace had no idea that Charlie was a virgin but he should have known from some previous comments that Charlie had made. Lesley did a brilliant job writing this virgin scene.

The back and forth of Charlies emotions for Jace send you on a roller coaster ride and you just want to shake her and tell her to wake up!! I wanted Charlie to not run from Jace and to just accept what he was willing to give to her but I guess since she had been so sheltered, everything was pretty much new to her.

I love the way that Lesley wrote Charlies character and made her so likeable in her innocence. Jace was just an Alpha male that made you swoon over him because of his possessiveness of Charlie. Jace was right too, once they crossed that bridge, Charlie was all his. I really enjoy the writing style of Lesley and look forward to many more books from her!!

Review- 5 Stars
Damn Louise Bay and her cliffhangers! I love her books and am always addicted to them, then I get to the end and I want to murder someone. This author always gives me characters who will become dear to me. The main ones as well as the secondary. In fact, I’ve often hoped to see more of those secondary characters end up with their own books.
Haven had a rough start with me in the first book, but my opinion of her was changed very quickly. She became someone that I wanted to know about, whose story I really cared about. In this second installment, I still liked her albeit, I was very frustrated with the walls that she was erecting without cause. But, at the core Haven is a really great person, a wonderful friend and sister.
Jake never ceases to have my love. Even as Haven shoves him away and he questions why he wants her, it takes very little pushing for his to accept reality and recognize his own feelings. We also get to know a little more about Jake’s history in this book and of course, I fell that much more.
There are ups and downs in this book that had me glued to the pages to find out what happens next. The author introduces new elements that have the story going in unexpected directions.
Then she does the worst thing of all. Hits you over the head with a sledgehammer of a cliffhanger. It’s very clear that the last book is going to be a little angsty and now I have to sit on my worry for these two until the next one comes out! But damn it, I’ll be counting down the days!

Jake Harrison is everything that Haven Daniels hates about men: over-confident, born into money and too handsome for his own good. Haven finds it difficult to keep her opinions to herself and can’t help but tell Jake exactly what she thinks of him, again and again.
Haven Daniels is uptight, smart and a bit of a bitch – the perfect challenge for Jake. It doesn’t hurt that she’s movie star beautiful and has no idea.
Forced to work together, verbal sparring turns into sexual chemistry but men like Jake are trouble and Haven has had enough trouble to last her a lifetime.
Will Haven give into Jake’s charms? Can Jake peel off Haven’s prickly mask, revealing the woman he knows lies beneath?

About the Author
USA Today Bestselling Author Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance novels – the kind she likes to read. Her books Faithful and Hopeful are stand-alone novels although there are some overlapping characters. Bestselling The Empire State Series of novellas starts with A Week in New York. My next series is What the Lightning Sees.
Ruined by romantic mini-series of the eighties, Louise loves all things romantic. There's not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films.
Louise loves the rain, the West Wing, London, days when she doesn’t have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.
She loves to hear from readers so get in touch!

Her face lifts from her screen and a lazy smile spreads across it. No matter what else is going on in the world, knowing my wife is happy to see me every day when I get home from work is all I truly care about.
“Hey, honey. Everything is fine.”
I cross the room and sit on the edge of her desk, leaning down as she tilts her face toward mine, offering me her lips.
After a gentle, loving kiss hello, I lift my head. “You’re working later than normal.”
She presses a few keys before pushing away from her desk and standing. “I watched a movie after lunch and was checking my email to make sure no one sent me anything.”
My legs open for her to come stand between them as she drapes her arms around my neck. “Watch anything good?
Nodding, she grins. “I loved it, but it was a period romance so you would have hated it.”
“Were there any boobs?”
She laughs and I lean forward to kiss her neck.
“No boobs,” she replies, her breath catching as my hand slides down her back and into her yoga pants to grip her delectable ass.
“You’re right. I probably wouldn’t have liked it.”
My other hand slides under her shirt to palm her breast. Crap, sports bra. Sarah owns four types of bras: lacy ones which are sexy as hell, cotton ones which are still sexy but not as much as the lacy ones, old sport bras which are a breeze to slip my hands into, and then these sport bras. These bras are like the Fort Knox of boob protection.
I hate them. Here I have my sexy wife rubbing against me while my hand is on her ass and I can’t get to her breasts. The elastic is practically glued to her body. I enjoy undressing her, but she’s going to have to handle that bra herself.
Giving up, I move that hand to join the other on her ass, kneading her cheeks as I kiss my way back up her neck. “Have we ever fucked on your desk?”
I had a dream once we had sex on my desk at school. The classroom was full of people watching us, but instead of my students it was Congress. I think it was around election time. Old dudes watching me bang my wife was weird, but I remember that image of her laid out across my desk and how hot it was.
She shakes her head. Oh, it’s on.

About CARESS OF PLEASURE

I'd thought that he was mine, the dark, arresting man who commanded not only my body but my heart. Dante had swept into my life, and I'd succumbed to the burn of passion in his arms.
I'd believed we had a love that would last forever, but he'd shattered my dreams and broken me into pieces when he'd walked away, taking a piece of my soul with him. Now he has come back seeking my help, and though I try to keep my distance and protect my heart, I cannot deny that the fire between us burns hotter than ever. And I cannot help but fear that this time our passion will reduce us both to ashes.

I fell in love with him once—and I'm honestly not sure that I ever fell out of love. But I do know one thing for sure—Dante Storm is dangerous to my heart. And whatever we started just now is something that we can't finish. I meet his eyes and am about to say just that when he shakes his head. “No. Don't say it. You don't need to say it.” “What?” “That we can't do it again.” “We can't.” “I know.” I stand in silence. I know why I can't; it's because he will break my heart. But I don't know why he doesn't want me. I only know that he doesn't. I only know that he walked away once, and that he has already told me he will walk away again. That should be enough, but then I have to go and open my mouth. I have to ask— “Why? Why did you leave?” For a minute, I don't think that he's going to answer. But he surprises me by saying, “Because I was looking at forever.” “And you don't think I was, too?” I'm baffled. With Dante, forever was my mantra. He looks at me, his eyes so sad I want to cry. “No,” he says, “I know you weren't.” I start to protest, but he just shakes his head, like a dog shaking off water. “Let's go transfer your money.” “No,” I say, standing firm. He cocks his head, then winces. “We shouldn't have done this. It won't happen again. But please don't back out. I really need your help. I can't tell you how urgent this is.” “I'll help,” I say. “But I don't want your money. And I don't want sex.” That's not entirely true. I want it; I don't think I can handle it. “Then why?” “I don't know,” I say. “Maybe because I loved you once upon a time.” Maybe because I still do.

And now, a little something from VICTORIOUS....

Natalie appears in the doorway to my office. “I talked to Aileen, and she doesn’t sound too good. She had chemo on Friday, and the kids are home today because of the snow. I was thinking I might go over there and entertain the kids so she can rest. Would that be okay with you?” “Only if I can come with you.” “I thought you had to work.” “I did, and now I don’t have anything else scheduled until eight o’clock tonight.” Her eyes drop and her cheeks flush at the mention of our date. “Oh, well, if you want to come, I’m sure the kids would love that.” “You should check with Aileen first. I don’t want to make her feel uncomfortable.” “I’m sure she won’t mind, but I’ll ask her if we can hang out with the kids for a while so she can rest.” She sends a text and receives an immediate response. “She says they’d love it and that neither of us are to look directly at her or at the condition of the apartment.” I laugh at the cute but sad reply. “We can’t drive, though. With everyone home because of the snow, we’ll never be able to park. We’ll take a cab.” “How will we get out of here undetected?” “I have the perfect solution.” “I won’t wear Russian fur on my head.” “I wouldn’t dream of making you do that. I’ve got something even better.” He disappears into the “bedroom and returns carrying two hats. When he hands one to me, I see they are knit ski masks with holes for the eyes, nose and mouth that cover the entire face. “No one will look twice at us in these today, because everyone will be wearing them.” “I’ve always thought they were kind of creepy when I saw people wearing them on the street.” “They do come in handy on days like this. And this way we can leave the security guys at home.” “Where are they when we’re here?” “In an office in the building next door. I call them when we need them.” “That must cost a fortune.” “It does, but it’s well worth it.” We suit up in the warmest clothes we can find and head out a short time later with Fluff leading the way. In addition to the snow masks, we’re wrapped up in scarves, warm parkas and gloves. “I wish I had my boots.” The best she was able to do is a pair of black Nikes. “I’ll carry you over any puddles.” The doorman hails a cab for us, and as we’re on our way out the door, Fluff stops right on the sidewalk to pee. Natalie and I lose it laughing, which draws the attention of the photographers camped outside my place. “Quick.” I gesture to the waiting cab. I scoop up Fluff the second she quits peeing, and we make a break for the car before the photographers can get themselves organized. Once inside the cab, we remove the masks. “I can’t believe they stand out there in the snow hoping for a glimpse of you,” she says. “And you.” “But mostly you.” “I don’t know… Liza says pictures of you are going for a pretty penny these days, too.” After a slow ride through slush and ice, we arrive at Aileen’s building. The snowdrifts are so high that I have to make good on my promise to pick up Natalie—and Fluff—and carry them over the snow “to the vestibule. “Our hero,” she says. “I specialize in damsels in distress.”
