When the latest string of murders, sweeping New York City, lands on Detective Fitzgerald S. Rodriguez’s desk, the signature evidence hits too close to home. Being unable to stop the murder of his own mother has made Fitz a jaded man. Now, he will stop at nothing to protect the one he loves.

Serial killer, Mark Chambers, is like a cat that preys on unsuspecting mice for sport. When a fresh kill no longer quenches his sexual appetite, he sets his sights on Makenna Justice. The fiery-redhead, with her emerald green eyes, ignites a fire in him that he hasn’t had since his first kill.

Time is of the essence for all three of them.

Mark must feed into his desires once more without leaving a trail.

Fitz has to dig himself deep into a killer’s mind to catch him.

And Makenna?—She just has to stay alive.

This book contains scenes and/or incidents of domestic violence, which may be triggering to survivors. Intended for 18+ mature readers only. Contains strong language and sexual situations, which may be offensive to some people.

Review- 4 Stars
This was a good read and it had me hooked. The writing is nicely done and the storyline is full of suspense. This is my first read by this author and I am intrigued by her. This book follows Fitz and Mckenna on a chase to find safety, love and happiness.
Mckenna has been in love with Fitz since she was five years old. Being that he is her brother's best friend and pretty much a part of her family, she hasn't been able to escape him. She has had to bury her feelings for him, her superman for years and she can't take it anymore. When she has become the main target of a serial killer, she decides to let everything out and hope he feels the same. Will he?
Fitz is one of those characters you can't help but feel for him. His past has made him the cop he is today. He saves lives and throws himself into his work to try to help heal his past guilt. Fitz has been in love with Mckenna for years, but his past has him pulling back. He can't afford to lose anymore so he's scared to take a chance. When her life is threatened, will he take that chance and reveal his secret to her or will he keep denying his love for her?
I like that this was based in New York. The author does a wonderful job describing the city to me as I have never been there...The characters are developed and the storyline is fast paced and exciting. My only complaint is that some things were repeated. I would read a line and then a chapter later the same thing was mentioned.
As I said the characters are well developed. It was interesting to get a peek into the mind of a serial killer. She portrayed that character well and you could feel the craziness of his mind. His obsession.
It was an interesting read and it sucked me in. I will check out more by this author. I recommend this for read to anyone. It has a lot to offer every reader. 4 Stars
