5* #Review #Giveaway This is War, Baby by @KristiWebster @IndieSagePromo

ThisIsWar_Tour
This is War, Baby by K. Webster Publication Date: February 29, 2016 Genres: Contemporary, Dark Romance This is War Baby FRONT ONLY
My life had a plan. Until he invaded it and stole it all away. My captor took me and I became a pawn. His strategy changed and he sent me away to WAR, because money is everything in this world. In my WAR, though, I found peace. I couldn’t help but find love where I least expected it, with a man who lived a battle every day of his life …all inside his head. But then my captor came back for me. Yet, this time, battle lines had been drawn and I was protected. So we thought. Even though my WAR was raging, my captor would fight to the death. The good guys always win, right? Not always. All’s fair in love and WAR, right? Not this time.

Warning: This is War, Baby is a dark romance. A really dark one. So dark you’re going to wish you had a flashlight to see yourself to the end and someone to hold your hand. Human trafficking, dubious consent, and strong sexual themes that could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. This story is NOT for everyone.

Review- 5 Stars

Wow!!! A little speechless....

K. Webster is rocking this dark theme! She turned it up in Dirty Ugly Toy and then took it up another notch in This is War, Baby. So I have been suffering from a major book hangover, well this book got me over it. This was raw, intense, heartbreaking and so much more. I found myself gasping and clenching my hands. Heed the Warning that K. Webster gives you….Because this is not a light sweet romance.

Baylee is seventeen and just finishing her senior year of high school. She hasn't even begun to live her life yet. She's going to go to college, has great friends and a boyfriend who adores her. Her parents are loving and Baylee is determined to help her sick mom make it through. Life couldn't get any more perfect….right?? WRONG!

Things start off with a bang….you have enter the crazy zone and trust me, hold on because its a ride. Just as things start getting hot between Baylee and her boyfriend, and intruder in a mask enters her bedroom and knocks out her boyfriend….She hears the voice and its someone she has fantasized about him. Only this voice isn't friendly, its menacing…..Baylee is kidnapped and all her fantasies and nightmares begin to blur.

I have fantasized about this guy, dreamed about him touching me.

Baylee is kidnapped by someone she has known her whole life. Someone she trusted and her parents trusted. He stole everything from her in a blink of an eye. He informs Baylee that he will be “training” her to send to the highest bidder. But he will come back for her because she ishis, and always has been. He's brutal. He tortures her, he humiliates her, he rapes her...yet he continues to tell her he loves her, she ishis...but soon Baylee will become a pawn in his sick and twisted mind. We see Baylee going through a mass of emotions...fear, pain, hate, and yes enjoyment. And my heart just broke for her….she was doing what was necessary to survive.

"I could feel the dark, twisty parts of me infecting every cell, membrane, and bone in my body. I was tainted."

WarWar...War…God my heart just broke for him. To have the kind of traumatic experience he did, and its a doozy, to be able to survive that. I understand why he is a prisoner. He has demons, every second in his head. He has so many issues that make life difficult for him. But there truly is a wonderful and sweet man underneath all the torment in his mind. I could keep going on and on about him. He is so vulnerable and when he buys Baylee. He soon finds out that he isn't buying a companion, he may be buying his peace.

When I'm around you, I don't obsess over my problems because I obsess over you

This had me on a freaking emotional ride. Its so deliciously dark and messed up. I loved the characters and felt connected to Baylee. I felt that I was going through everything that she was fighting. She was a survivor. War...oh War. I fell in love with him right away. He reached into my chest and grabbed my heart. These two made an unlikely match, but yet they were perfect for each other. She was his light and he was hers. This was not an easy read. Once you are through the darkness of the story, it turns into something powerful. Its blinding….the light….the peace. But is it over?

"The queen always protects the king. Even from himself.

You will not want to put this book down. It leads you on a path of a twisted and sick mind. You will be thinking so many things and you won't have a clue. Monsters are always lurking….
As I said before heed the Warning… K. Webster did a phenomenal job with the storyline. Its developed, its engaging and full of turmoil. That ending...oh that ending….I was yelling and cussing at her....its messed up! 5 Racing Hearts Stars!
