GAME OF LOVE
The Remingtons Series #6
Melissa Foster
Released May 17, 2016
World Literary Press

Fiercely independent Janie Jansen has always believed there were worse things in life than being blind, and she’s spent her life proving it. She’s moved away from her overprotective parents, built a life in New York City, and is one of the top technical editors in her company. That is, until an unfortunate accident turns her life upside down and she’s forced to give up the very independence she’s worked so hard to achieve.

Firefighter Boyd Hudson pushed past his tragic past and is weeks away from accomplishing his ultimate dream—being accepted into medical school. His intense focus on his goal while working three jobs has taken its toll. With a trail of failed relationships behind him, Boyd is painstakingly aware of his limitations and avoids girlfriends completely—a difficult task given his attraction to one of his co-workers.

When Boyd comes to Janie’s rescue, she’s forced to accept his help, and Janie discovers there’s more to the sexy-sounding office flirt than one-liners. Their connection deepens as Janie heals, but it turns out that Janie isn’t the only one who needs healing. Boyd’s painful past comes back to haunt him, threatening their relationship and forcing Boyd to reevaluate everything he knows about himself.

5 stars!!

I have to say that this is my favorite Melissa Foster book yet!! I love how she incorporated a character that was so strongly independent, but also had a disability that she did not let get in her way of being that strong independent person. I love the research that was done to make us feel like we could relate to Janie and her disability and made the story seem so much more to life. This was another great job by Melissa Foster!

Janie is a young lady that has always been a very independent person, despite being blind. Janie has a job that she works at and does not expect people to cater to her just because of her disability. When Janie meets Boyd, a co-worker at her job, she never thought anything about the way that Boys acts around her. She just thought that he was being a nice person. When they make a bet one night before leaving work, things begin to take a turn for these two. Janie goes about her way and starts her trek home for the night on the subway when she slips and falls onto the train tracks. Janie manages to get the strength to pull herself back up onto the platform, but she has hurt her ankle and is laying there wondering what in the world she is going to do when she all the sudden hears Boyds voice and knows that he is her answer. Boyd had realized that Janie has left her phone with him and was on his way to return it when he found her injured. Not only does Boyd take care of her that night, but he makes himself Janie's new caretaker because of his training as an EMT/Firefighter.

Boyd does everything for Janie for a few days and makes sure that she is taking the proper care of her ankle do that it will heal properly. Not only is Janie in a wheelchair for a couple of days, but when she gets out of that, she has a crutch that she has to use for her ankle when she can finally put weight on it again. Boyd is determined to make sure that Janie is ready to face the subway again and for her to know that she doesn't have to do it alone. I love how Boyd all the sudden became Janie's caretaker even though they had not gotten to know each other well.

Things start to heat up for Janie and Boyd when he takes care of her after her fall. Boyd will not leave Janie and is determined to be her caretaker even though her friend next door has offered to do it. Boyd knows that there is something special there when it comes to Janie and he is not willing to let that go now that he has the chance to act on it. When Janie gets better and is able to get back into her routine, she and Boyd spend time together at his place and the way that Boyd goes out of his way to make his place easier for Janie to live in is amazing to me. These two really hit it off quick and even though they both have goals in their life that they are striving for, they are willing to change the way they are going to achieve those goals to incorporate the other in them.

Will Boyd and Janie be able to find the perfect balance with all their goals and dreams to be able to stay with each other no matter what now that they have finally found each other?? You have to read this story to find out. This is by far one of my favorite reads because of how Boyd just stepped in and started taking care of Janie but he was also mindful of her keeping her independence and let her still do things on her own. This is a great read that you will fall in love with!
