BEAUTIFUL by Ella Bordeaux
Release Date: June 7, 2016
Genre: YA

SYNOPSIS:

Skylar Woods unknowingly drew Wyatt Smith toward her.  He wanted … needed to learn everything about her. Though he sensed her beauty was more than just skin deep, Wyatt struggled to understand the sadness she attempted to mask with an amazing smile.

When Skylar’s eyes met Wyatt’s for the first time, her breath caught and she couldn’t look away from the new guy standing in the school office smiling at her. The connection only grew when Wyatt sat next to her in English class, allowing Skylar to dare to believe he might actually be interested in getting to know her.

For the first time in months, she felt alive.

The moment Wyatt expressed an interest, the notes started again … the ones that reminded her of a past she could never move beyond—the event that changed her life forever and robbed her of any chance of happiness.

Never believing the rumors being spread around school about Skylar, Wyatt made sure he went out of his way to prove how much he cared about her.

But when the past resurfaces, will Wyatt stand by her side? Or will he turn against her like everyone else?

REVIEW: 4 Sars

What can i say about this...It was beautiful!  The title fits perfectly.  But that ending...oh man...that ending.  I didn't realize that this was going to end in a cliffy so watch out because its a doozy!

Wyatt is the boyfriend that we all wish for.  The one parents absolutely adore and want for you.  He's kind, sweet, just a dream.  When he spots a angel he's done for...who is she?

Skylar is a girl who has had her life turned upside down because of lies.  She was once full of life and now her spark is gone...until Wyatt enters the picture.  Can he stand by her or will be like everyone else?

This book was a story that was kinda of hard to read because I kept tearing up from the torment that Skylar went through.  Her life was torn apart by someone she trusted.  They ruined her spirit, but man was she strong for how she handled herself.  She didn't hide or run, even though she wanted too.  She held her head up high and kept her eye on the prize.   She was almost done and then she would be gone.   What kept bringing me back to the characters was how they seemed so grown up.  Wyatt was a guy who saw people for who they were not by what others said about them.  He saw a girl who had her life destroyed by someone and now she's the one paying for all the backlash, not them.  He sees a smart, beautiful and sweet girl.  He sees his future.
Skylar handles herself with such grace, it's hard to believe she's a teen.  If you put me in her shoes, I would have broken or snapped awhile ago.  She has the support of her twin and best friend Michelle, until Wyatt arrives.  He makes her happy, feel special, feel loved.  But doubt and little voices crawl into her head occasionally.  But she can't deny he makes her feel again.

I kept wanting to throat punch Jenny!  UGH!!  She is such a jealous, horrible, evil baby!  A few of the guys needed to be kicked in the balls too...poor girl.  Seriously where was your support.
I adored her best friend Michelle.  She was funny, sweet and had her back.   Her brothers Mitch and Skip....protective!  I adored them as well and they also brought some humor to the story.

I couldn't get enough of the story.  I stayed up and read because I was so involved in Skylar and Wyatt's story.  This is definitely a page turner.  However, one thing I didn't like or understand was that her parents seemed laid back with things....I don't know I just got that impression.  They never really put up a fuss when she left with him, talked about sex on prom night and other little things....it was a little weird.

Overall, I really enjoyed the read and the ending has been hooked into the next one.  I can wait to see where it's going to go.  This was a great YA read, but I would say it's an upper YA read.  Ella did a great job sucking you into her story.  Her characters are not complex, but the do have some depth to them.  Forever Beautiful comes out when????  4 Supportive Stars

EXCERPT:

The moment I saw him walk into my English class, I had to catch my breath. That was twice now that I’d seen him. He was breathtakingly handsome. His dark hair made his eyes pop all the way from across the room. All of the girls immediately started whispering, praying he would notice one of them.
I sat in the back right corner, as far away from everyone as I could. There was no chance of him seeing me.
Then, our eyes met. I instantly felt my cheeks blush, like earlier when he’d smiled at me in the office. I wasn’t so sure if he was looking my way or not now.
Is he smiling at Jenny or at me?
Jenny was a beautiful blonde-haired, blue-eyed cheerleader. She could pretty much just look at a guy, and he would fall for her.
Mrs. Hathaway grinned at him and then told him to pick a seat. He turned and looked directly at me again. My heart started pounding so loud that I was sure everyone in the classroom could hear it.
“I heard he moved here from New Mexico. He wanted to play football for a Texas high school, so a college would notice him,” Jenny said as she started to mess with her hair.
“What’s his name?” Beth asked.
Jenny shrugged her shoulders. “Who cares? Look at that body. My God, they make them good in New Mexico.” She jumped up and moved over a seat right before he got to her table.
For some reason, my heart was breaking. How stupid of me to think he would notice me. Even if he did, everyone would tell him to stay away from me.
He passed by Jenny’s table, walked right up to mine, and smiled.
Oh. My. God.
“Hey, I’m Wyatt. Mind if I sit here with you?” he asked.
That drop-dead gorgeous smile melted my heart.
I smiled. “No, not at all. It’s open.”
He sat down, and I glanced over toward Jenny and her posse. If looks could kill, I’d be on the floor right now.
