5* #Review #Giveaway El Diablo by @AuthorMRobinson

BLOG TOUR September 6th-20th

I was ruthless.
I was feared.
I had sacrificed. Myself. Her. Everything...
Living in a world where I was worth more dead than alive was a choice. I was a bad man, never claimed to be anything else. I’ve done things I’m not proud of. Seen things that can’t be unseen. I’ve caused pain that I can’t undo.
It was all my choice.
Every decision.
Every order.
Right and wrong never mattered.
Until her.
She was under my protection, until she became my obsession.
But who was going to save her...
From. Me. The devil himself.

Fate brought us together. Destiny destroyed us.

“Go stretch again, cariƱo,” I ordered in a dominant tone. Nodding to the barre.
“I’m fine,” she stubbornly replied. Shaking her legs and arms out. Getting back into position, looking at me through the mirror.
I cocked my head to the side, arching an eyebrow. She narrowed her eyes at me, but begrudgingly listened. I pressed play, allowing the melody to once again take over. She placed her leg on the lowest barre, making her ass s
tick out in my direction.
Tempting me.
She closed her eyes, needing to get lost in the music, wanting to push away all the negative thoughts, already feeling discouraged. I stood, taking off my suit jacket. Rolling up the sleeves of my collared shirt as I stepped onto the hardwood floor. I slowly came up behind her, catching her off guard.
She froze, turning around, opening her eyes. Peering up at me through her lashes. “What are you doing?”
I leaned forward against her ear, grinning. “I’m helping you stretch.” Getting down on my knees in front of her.
Her eyes dilated. The feeling of disappointment replaced with nothing but lust. She placed her arms out to the side, resting up against the barre, supporting her weight. I grabbed her ankle, lifting it up in the air, rubbing along her leg as it was fully stretched, before setting it on the lowest barre. Running my other hand up her side, easing her over toward the extended leg. She understood what I was doing, reaching for her ankle, stretching. Standing back up, bringing her arms above her head, I caressed along her leg again, casually turning her torso so her leg was still placed on the barre behind her.
Her breathing hitched as I touched her all over her lower body. My lips softly kissing the inside of her thigh to where she wanted my mouth the most.

Intensity...Angst...Beautiful...Hate Those are just some of the words to describe my feelings.
I'm the wolf, the one your momma warned you to stay away from.

After finishing El Diablo I have no words right now.  M. Robinson takes you on a captivating journey through hell.  "The Devil" freely roams among us, he owns everything and everyone.   People know to not mess with him or their fate is sealed.  No one will ever break him down, until her.  She will be his demise, the one who brings him to his knees and brings the light back.

Every devil needs an angel. And she was mine.

This is broken into parts and it's needed to help you understand the characters fully.  El diablo is told in dual POV’s.  What is wonderful about dual POV’s or at least in this story...you feel it all.  You will see all the years that are wasted, you will see them unravel, you will see light being overtaken by dark, yet you will also see beauty.
You will experience the rise of Alejandro Martinez from the beginning.  You will experience his darkness, his pain, and his undoing.  You will finally understand the man behind it all….ARE YOU SCARED YET??

Alejandro Martinez “El Diablo” as he is better known as, only he wasn’t always this.  Everything changed when he turned 15.  He became a man, a Martinez,  in his father’s eyes.  This was his destiny and he had no way out of it.  His life beforehand revolved around his two loves...his mother and his sister, but soon they would start to look at him differently.  Alejandro soon realizes those he loves are doomed.  The one woman besides his family, leaves him because his life is just too much.  She couldn’t handle it.  Alejandro becomes a mystery...the lover that every woman wants.  That every woman bows down too to just get one taste of him...he treats them all like whores, but soon he will be tested again.  Will he accept the gift of love?  Or will he spit on it?

I watched her sleep. Protecting her the only way I knew how. Except there was no protecting her..

Lexi was the beautiful heart and soul of the book.  She didn’t have a great childhood, far from it.  Her mother left Lexi in a sense to fend for herself, while her Stepdad puts on a good front for awhile, however, things are not always what they seem.  Her only saving grace is ballet.  This is where Lexi truly shines and feels good about her life.  She gets lost in the dance and is truly beautiful to watch.  She’s feisty, strong, beautiful, one of my favorite characters I have read in while.  She is beyond selfless and wears her emotions/thoughts are her face so well.  She doesn’t have any fear and I think that is why I truly felt that Lexi and Alejandro were soul mates.  He needed someone to put him in his place, but also stand by his side and have no fear.

She needed to stay away from me. I wanted her to stay away from me. I should've made her leave, but it didn’t matter because I couldn’t stay away from her any longer. And in the end…I didn’t want to.

These two together were a scorching fire one moment and then the next it was like a bucket of ice thrown on you.  Alejandro has so many highs and lows, and I felt Lexi and her pain.  She just kept trying and trying, but then he destroys her.  She wanted to have her love reciprocated, but he just couldn’t do it.  He becomes a coward.

I’m not your savior, I’m your demise

Lexi never saw Alejandro the way he saw himself.  She tried to get him to understand that she didn’t fear him, that he was the one who calmed her, who made her feel safe.  She was willing to bend to him only so much.  She wanted him to give her something, anything.  She saw through him, but needed him to open up too her, to allow the light in that she was freely trying to give to him.

You were the villain in your own story, Martinez. In mine, you’ve always been my hero.

M. Robinson brings a twisted and emotion filled tale of lies, betrayal, love and loss.  You won’t know whether to hate or love Alejandro, but you will feel something for him.   El Diablo will do anything to protect those who he loves and that includes keeping them from him.   You will find yourself cussing him one minute and then the next shedding tears.  He’s kind of like a mythical creature...everyone fears him, admires hims and wants him.  El Diablo is definitely one of my favorite reads this year.  Hold on because this is one ride you don’t want to miss.  Grab the tissues and be prepared to be bewitched by the characters and storylineThis is absolutely intoxicating!   5 Stars!!  Thank you Monica!
