REVIEW:

5 stars!!

When we were given a cliffhanger in book 1, I was very happy that I already had book 2 on my Kindle waiting for me. Now I have to wait for book 3 and I am so anxious to get my hands on it. This series has quickly become one of my favorite mafia stories because of the characters and the way that they are so determined to make things work despite everything and pretty much everyone being against them.

After a few months of separation, Kaz and Violet are finally reunited and Kaz knows that he has to do everything in his power to protect Violet once she agrees to go with him to a safe place. Little do they know that there are more than the normal mafia group of people out to get them, but some of their own family members are out to get revenge.

We get plenty more of the romance and sex from these great authors that we got in the first book and I have to say once again that I am so impressed with how these two ladies write! There is never a time in either of these two books that I would think that there were two people writing this story. So very well done and it all flows so flawlessly! I think that the plot and story line is very well thought out and the characters are very well developed, all making for a very enjoyable read.

When Kaz rescues Violet from a situation, he vows to get revenge for what they have done to her. Not only does Kaz know that his family is against him, but he knows that he is going to have to kill to get to the end of things. Kaz does not want to get anyone involved that doesn't need to be so he decides to go on his mission alone. Well, that was a bad idea and I can't wait to see how things are going to play out for both Kaz and Violet in book 3. The ending to this one leaves you with a gut wrenching feeling. I am so anxious to get the next book so that I can know what happens! Thanks for a great series and look forward to the next installment in Kaz and Violet's crazy life!

REVIEW:

4 stars

This was a first read for me by Bethany-Kris and I can honestly say that I had no idea it was two Author's together as one. The story is so well written that you could never guess there were two people writing together. I really enjoyed this forbidden love with mafia ties thrown into it. The characters are very well developed.

I love that we get a glimpse into their past as kids to start out with. When we first meet Violet and Kazimir, Kaz for short, you can definitely tell that there is something special there between them, but there is not supposed to be. Violets family is in the Italian mafia and Kaz's family is in the Russian mafia. Those two are not supposed to mix at all. Kaz and Violet know this fact, but neither one of them seems to be effected by it.

When Violet and her friends go out to celebrate her 21st birthday, they go to a new bar that is in the part of town that her father has warned her to stay away from. When they are there, they have a little too much to drink and one of them gets drugged, so they decide that it is time for them to go but when they go to leave, Kaz and his brother stop them at the door because Kaz's brother is the owner of the bar and wants no trouble or bad word to get out about someone being drugged at his bar. Kaz and his brother take the girls home and help them out. Kaz ends up taking Violet and what takes place between the two of them leaves Violet longing for more even though she knows that Kaz is off limits by her father's standards.

Before Violet can even wake up the next morning her brother is at her apartment and waiting to escort her to her mother and father's house to have a meeting with her father. Violet know that this is not good, but she wonders just how far her father will go to make sure that she and Kaz don't see each other again. Their little outing with each other the night before has caused trouble for Kaz and Violet, but will it keep them away from each other?

As the story goes on and progresses, we get some steamy, fanning ones self, scenes between Kaz and Violet. Being raised by the mafia, Kaz is not afraid of much and when he has something that he wants, he is going to fight for it. Will Violet be able to commit to Kaz despite the ties that her family has? Does she want to be know for the same things that her family name is known for or is she ready to break away and become her own person despite what her father says? You will enjoy this mafia read that keeps you turning the pages to find out what all is going on between Kaz and Violet. I am so anxious to read the next book in this series and continue on this journey with Kaz and Violet.
