We fell in love during the campaign.
The stakes were high.
Reputations could have been ruined.
Scandal hovered over us like a cloud.
Now the man I love is the President of the United States of America.
And its not my vote he is after.
He wants it all.
My heart. My body. My soul.
He wants me by his side.
In the White House.
Normalcy will be gone from my life, privacy forgotten.
I am only twenty three. I just wanted to play a part in history. But it seems like history wasn't done with me. The part where I lost my heart to Matthew Hamilton? It was only the beginning…

Review - 5 Stars
5 Stars!!!
Holy. Freaking. Hell. X 2!
Just when I think that Katy Evans can’t get any better she bestows upon us Commander in Chief. I floved every single second of Mr. President, but Commander in Chief?... it was freaking INSPIRED. I DEVOURED this book and I sincerely wish that I could read it for the first time all over again. It is a wondrous and magical thing when you sincerely connect and get wrapped up in a book so wonderfully written you feel honored to have the privilege to read it. Commander in Chief is that book.
Matt Hamilton was elected President two months prior, at the end of Mr. President. It is now the eve of his inauguration and not only does he have the weight of the presidency on his shoulders, he has a heavy heart with how things ended with Charlotte. He hasn’t seen her since election night, and after not seeing her for so long he knows one thing, he cannot and will not give her up. He will somehow be Mr. President and Matt Hamilton.
“I let her go. I let the woman I love go because I didn’t want her to go through what Mom went through. And I’ve realized that I can’t do it without her. That I need her. That she makes me stronger. I don’t want to hurt her… But I can’t give her up. I’m fucking selfish, but I can’t give her up.”
Charlotte Wells has spent the last two months in Europe. Returning to Washington D.C on the eve of the Inauguration, she’s torn. She’s going to attend, but that means seeing Matt. The Matt who she loves with every being of her body. The Matt who she supports unconditionally. The Matt who she lost to the Presidency of the United States. She understands that she can’t have him and that he is going to do great things, but it doesn’t mean that her heart doesn’t still break.
“I’m lost. I’m his. I don’t want to be anywhere else, will never be anyone else’s, he’s my guy, my commander, my god.”
On the night of the Inauguration Matt makes his feelings known to Charlotte. He needs her. He will find a way to make it all work but he can’t be without her. For the next four years he will be the leader of the free world, but he will be it with her at his side. The remainder of the story follows Matt’s Presidency and his relationship with Charlotte: the ups and downs, trials and tribulations, and everything in between. He is Mr. President, the Commander in Chief.
“I love you. Very much, Charlotte. So much I couldn’t let you go. So much I won’t let you go. I’ve been in hell without you. You’re in my every waking thought and in my fucking dreams. I’ll fight to deserve you, to keep you by my side. I’m never making that mistake again, thinking that I can’t keep you.”
Katy Evans has written another fantastic story (And that cover!). Her ideas were inspired and I wish that Matt Hamilton really was the President! Reading Matt trying to be both the President and family man was a wonderful thing. Every single aspect of this book was well thought out and presented beautifully. While told mainly in Charlotte’s point of view, we were able to get insight into Matt’s inner thoughts and feelings as well. This was an epic love story that has set the bar incredibly high for love stories yet to be written.
