This book started out rather slow for me but quickly
picked up its pace. The way that Oliver was thrown several surprises in his
life when he was home from his voyages abroad kept you wondering where the book
was going to take you. I love how Oliver tried to be a hard man and not show
any feelings towards anything, then one day his supposed daughter shows up and
completely melts his heart and changes him into a better person. To have an encounter
with Eloisa as soon as he receives his daughter and to see the way that Daniela
reacts to her, makes you wonder early on if something is going to spark between
Oliver and Eloisa. Oliver deciding to take care of Daniela whether she is
really his own flesh and blood or not makes you see what a good man she has
turned Oliver into!
I love d the historical setting and that the language reflected of this time
period. It gave you that
warm fuzzy feeling of a good older story. This book ended
in a HEA and I love that about it! Oliver
finally got Eloisa to give up the
"ghost" of her past love and giver herself completely to him so that
they could start their life together abroad and encounter whatever was thrown
at them no matter what
others said. I could tell the Eloisa was wanting to give
herself to Oliver and I just wanted her to go
ahead and do it and get it over
with so we could see where their life together was going to end up.
Thanks to
Sandra Sookoo for a good read and I look forward to others from this Author!!
About the
Author
Sandra is a writer of romantic fiction. In the past
couple of years she’s concentrated on funny contemporary romance as well as
Regency-era romance, but she will, on occasion, write paranormal or sci-fi.
Whether you like sweet or erotic heat levels, there’s something for everyone to
fall in love with. She’s also a hybrid author, choosing to publish both with
small presses and doing the indie thing. Offered representation in February
2014 by Scott Eagan at Greyhaus Literary Agency for Victorian-era historical
romances, Sandra’s been hard at work researching, planning and writing a new
series. When not immersed in creating new worlds and engaging characters,
Sandra likes to read, bake, taste new teas, watch The Big Bang Theory and Psych
as well as Finding Bigfoot, and travel. Her favorite place to spend vacation
hours is Walt Disney World: it’s where dreams come true and the soul can play.
When she’s not writing or inventing new recipes, she spends time with her
husband—goofing off and making moments count. Life’s too short to be serious
all the time. Sandra loves to hear from her readers. You can write to her
at sandrasookoo@yahoo.com, visit her website at www.sandrasookoo.com, or look
her up on Facebook and Twitter.
