REVIEW - 4 Stars
I'm a sucker for a book about fighters-whether they be MMA
fighters, or in Xavier Cold's case, wrestlers. I can't help it,
it's my thing, my weakness, my kriptonite. So, it was impossible for me not to
be excited about reading this book. I went into the series kind of blind,
I''l admit. I had no idea what to expect or if it was just going to be
another run of the mill bad boy fighter book. I was pleasantly surprised.
I loved X and his passion towards Anna. He had an
undying love vibe coming from him and what girl doesn't appreciate that? He had
a stubborn, yet, determined attitude, one that I personally love in a male
lead.
I liked Anna, but I didn't love her. At times,
although she was strong, she seemed on the whiny side and that turned me off
from her in a few scenes. But, for the most part, I enjoyed her. I
admired her ability to stay by Xavier's side even in the most undesirable
situations.
There was a lot going on in the book, and at some moments it
felt as if it was a little too much but the book had me sitting on the edge of
my seat. I felt it was a great conclusion for Xavier and Anna
and their story. I was surprised as to how unique this book ended up
being and I have to say, even though there were some things i wasn't a fan of,
I grew to really like this story. I'll definitely read more of Michelle A
Valentine's work, she's a great writer!
