REVIEW- 4.5 Stars!

I love Kristen Ashley’s books. They are always full of depth, complex characters, a plot that is meaty and well thought out, and, of course, steamy in all the right ways. Though I had some very small issues with it, Rock Chick Reawakening was no exception. It was a fantastic way to close out the series, although, I certainly wouldn’t complain if there were more to come (hint hint).

Marcus is deliciously alpha. The kind of guy who sees what he wants and won’t stop pursuing until he has it. It helps that everyone s afraid of him. But, he also has patience and sweetness, understanding of Daisy’s issues. He recognizes that going after her requires an extremely light touch at times, and the firm alpha at others. He is quite perfect for her.

Daisy was a little harder for me to like. Her upbringing was rough, no doubt about it and she persevered, making a life for herself. But, she was a complete contradiction in that she followed rules taught to her about how to be a true Southern lady, but they never crossed over into her speech and a few other areas. Shouldn’t they coincide? The woman who taught her these rules was very refined, yet Daisy seems to pick and choose what she emulates from miss Annamae. Her way of speaking got on my nerves pretty fast and bothered me throughout the book. However, I admired her strength and came to like her as a person, helping me to set aside my annoyance at her rough edges.

This is a novella and therefore moves rather quickly, but it didn’t deter from the story. It simply fit these two. At the end, I felt like there story was complete and I hadn’t missed out on anything. This one won’t sit on the re-read shelf for me, but I’m enjoyed it very much. I certainly recommend it and encourage you to read it! 4.5 rocking stars!

About Kristen Ashley: Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning. Nothing’s changed. Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland.
