YOU CAN’T STOP A RISING TIDE

When Lily Doyle spots her high school crush Aiden Flynn on the inbound ferry, she knows trouble is about to dock in Seashell Bay. And not just because he’s more handsome than ever. If Aiden’s in town, the rumors must be true about his family’s plan to sell their coastal land to the highest bidder. But Lily will do whatever it takes to convince the hottest guy on the beach to protect their idyllic island home.

Gorgeous Lily Doyle was the only thing Aiden missed after he escaped from his hometown to play pro baseball. Now all Aiden wants is to wrap up the business deal and get back to his life, not relive a past that still haunts him. But as memories rush in about the night of passion he and Lily shared long ago, everything else washes right out to sea-everything except the desire that still burns between them.

Lily and Aiden were never really high school sweethearts per say, but had a fling when they were in high school. Aiden, a professional baseball player goes back to the island that he grew up on once his career takes a different direction and when his eyes land on Lily once again, there is no stopping him this time. It was nice to see that these two still had eyes for each other after years of being apart.

Aiden has come home to decide whether he is going to sell the land that his mother left him or if he is going to hold onto it. Once Aiden has been in his old hometown for a few days, he quickly realizes that there is a lot of debate over the land and the town does not really want them to sell to these huge land developers that would come in and bring unwanted things to the island. After much soul searching, Aiden decides to go against his dad's wishes and hold onto his land for a much better idea that has come to him with the help of Lily. During all of this debate over the land, Aiden and Lily have become very close and Aiden soon realizes that he does not want to let Lily slip through his fingers again. Aiden has some very serious decisions to make with his career all while trying to deal with the land sale and vote.

Lily and Aiden develop a relationship that some dream of where they are so easy going with each other and everything just clicks. I am glad that this book has a HEA for Aiden and Lily. I am sure that it will be a HEA for the small town as well. Thanks for a true love story.

V.K. Sykes is really two people – Vanessa Kelly and Randy Sykes, a husband and wife team who write USA Today Bestselling contemporary romance and also romantic suspense. Randy excels at plot and characterization, but tends to fall down on the job when it comes to that pesky old thing called emotion. That’s where Vanessa steps in. She usually writes the sex scenes too, since Randy is a bit uncomfortable when it comes to that sort of stuff. Vanessa also writes award-winning Regency-set historical romance for Kensington Zebra under her own name. You can check out Vanessa’s bestselling historical romances at www.vanessakellyauthor.com
