Releasing July 5th, 2016

Miss Lucinda Parnell is out of money. A dismal failure at the Marriage Mart, she’d just as soon leave Society far behind. Desperate to earn funds to retire with her grandmother to the country, Lucy disguises herself as a man to gamble in London’s hells. But the Earl of Dartford, an Untouchable she never imagined speaking to let alone spending time with, is onto her in a trice. When he insists on acting as her protector, Lucy fears her chance to remain an independent woman is destined to go up in flames.

After losing his entire family, Andrew Wentworth, Earl of Dartford built a wall to keep attachments at bay. He believed he could keep Miss Parnell safe without compromising his defenses, but she’s exciting and irresistible. Their deepening relationship makes him even more determined to push her away. Nothing will stop him from trying to avoid reliving the anguish of loss. Love is the one risk he doesn’t have the heart to dare.

This was such a great read and definitely different from any other stories that I have read. I love how Darcy Burke writes and incorporates a new twist on the historical front with this one. This story flowed flawlessly and kept my attention the whole way through.

Lucinda is a young lady that has had a rough experience with the men in her life. She has learned that she can not depend on any of them and is ready to write off all men in the world. When Lucinda decides that she does not want to marry, she had to find a way to provide for herself. Lucinda is making plans to go away with her grandmother so she has come up with a way to disguise herself so that she can pretend to be one of the guys and go into town to gamble with all the other men. For awhile no one knows who Lucinda is or what she is up to, but when the Earl ofDartford comes to town one day, things change.

Andrew, Earl of Dartford, has been on his own for some time after loosing his family to an illness early on. When Andrew goes to gamble, he realizes that there is something different about one ofthe men joining them and decides to follow him and see what is going on. When he realizes that the "he" he thought he was following is really a she, Andrew is determined to find out what is going on with Lucinda. Andrew acts as Lucinda's protector and will not let her go out on her own after he finds out who she is and what she is doing. Of course this causes the two of them to be together more and they learn more and more about each other the more they go out. Andrew becomes more and more protective of Lucinda.

Things continue to heat up between Lucinda and Andrew and they have their encounters that are steamy!! I love the way that Andrew was more concerned about how Lucinda felt and what she wanted than his own needs or wants. Andrew was determined to please Lucinda and to not make things uncomfortable for her. How will things end for these two?? You need to read this one to find out. You will not be able to put it down once you start. Such a good read. I can't wait to see what is in store for more of the Untouchables!!

Darcy Burke is the USA Today bestselling author of hot, action-packed historical and sexy, emotional contemporary romance. Darcy wrote her first book at age 11, a happily-ever-after about a swan addicted to magic and the female swan who loved him, with exceedingly poor illustrations.

A native Oregonian, Darcy lives on the edge of wine country with her guitar-strumming husband, their two hilarious kids-who each seem to have inherited the writing gene in some form-and two Bengal cats. In her "spare" time Darcy is a serial volunteer enrolled in a 12-step program where one learns to say "no," but she keeps having to start over. Her happy places are Disneyland and Labor Day weekend at the Gorge.
