When her mother’s incessant matchmaking hits an all-time high, Georgie Archibald does what any sensible woman would do: she flees the country.
Seeking refuge in the picturesque seaside village of Vernazza, Italy, Georgie’s only plan is to lie low, gorge herself on gelato, and let the wine and waves wash her troubles away...that is until she wakes up in a bed that belongs to the most romantic-looking man she’s ever seen.
Gianluca.
After going out of his way to rescue her, the former London financier turned mysterious recluse makes it clear that despite acting as her white knight, he has no plans to co-star in her fairytale.
But Georgie isn’t asking for his heart—she’s merely intrigued.
After all, Gianluca isn’t just gorgeous—tall and tan from days spent in the sun—his touch sets her world on fire. With him, Georgie experiences the most intoxicating passion she’s ever known, and it only takes a few steamy nights for her to realize that sometimes running away from trouble is the best way to find it.

5 Stars!!
The emotional slow burn tale of a woman’s journey to find herself, A Place in the Sun by RS Grey tells the story of Georgie, younger sister to Duke (and Olympic swimmer) Freddie Archibald. All grown up and ready to escape her mother’s abysmal matchmaking, Georgie embarks on a life altering journey to Vernazza, Italy where she will discover everything that she didn’t know she was missing, and experience love and heartbreak all with the same man- Gianluca.
Georgie had to get out of England. After another horrible blind date, she can’t take it anymore. At 26, and deemed a spinster by her mother, she spins the globe and vows to travel to the first place her finger hits. Italy. Specifically Vernazza, a small fishing town she will call home for a short while. After a long travel, Georgie is helped by two men after she faints upon arrival. Upon awakening and determining that she hadn’t been kidnapped, her eyes lock on the most gorgeous man she has ever seen. She immediately feels as she knows this man to the very depth of her soul… and he has absolutely no interest in her whatsoever.
Gianluca has no time for frivolous pursuits. As a twenty nine reclusive widow, rebuilding his villa and the occasional train ride to an outer town for a one night stand is all he needs. No entanglements. Nothing messy. No feelings. He had his great love, and had to watch her slowly suffer and die from cancer. His body may need sex, but it doesn’t and won’t ever need love. He may have noticed and helped a tourist, but she made no lasting impression. He is ever determined to live the half-life that he has been, but Georgie will not be ignored.
Though Georgie originally came to Vernazza to meet men and date, Gianluca is the only one she wants. She pesters him until he finally breaks down and agrees to fix up his grandmother’s bed and breakfast with her when she decides to stay for long term. He is incredibly closed off and treats her as a pest in the beginning, but there is no denying that their relationship gradually changes to that of friends, and then finally to lovers. But Georgie can’t compete with a ghost that he is still in love with. And though she loves him deeply, he can’t promise her anything but physical when he won’t let himself move on. Or can he?
A Place in the Sun is the most emotional and gut wrenching story by RS Grey to date. It had a much different feel than her previous somewhat lighthearted releases. This book has all the feels. It hurt to read parts of it because you truly felt for Georgie. It was all incredibly emotional and moving on from death is never easy. I cried just as much for Gianluca as I did for Georgie. This book was a slow burn, with a very gradual shift in their relationship. I believe it had to be that was due to Gianluca’s lack of motivation to move on. Anything else would have lacked the emotion that truly made this book what it was.
Georgie was a fantastic heroine. She was a truly lovely person, but with a backbone and resolve to get what she wanted. She may have come from money, but that didn’t jade her. She was a good human being, and one that just wanted to love fiercely and be loved just as fiercely in return. Though at times incredibly frustrating, Gianluca was a great man but living without a purpose. Georgie gave him that purpose and I don’t believe anyone else could have had an impact on him as she did. The epitome of everything wonderful about Italian men, Gianluca is a great new addition to book boyfriends everywhere.
An incredible new book by a wonderfully talented writer, A Place in the Sun is where everyone should want to be.

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things... everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things "funny". Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
