Hale Simmons’s life is already bottoming out and she’s only eighteen.  Struggling on welfare, while trying to keep her alcoholic father on track, her dreams of having a better life fade a little more each day.
But, when her dad witnesses a brutal accident at the bar one night, it changes the entire course of Hale’s future.
Thrust into an arranged marriage with Oscar Maree, the playboy son of a wealthy man, Hale must learn to trust a stranger to give her the life she’s always wanted.
First, Hale needs to figure out if love can ever happen by accident.

Review- 5 stars

I adored this book. ADORED IT!
At first, I was a little doubtful about how the “arranged marriage” scenario would play out. Who can force that these day? Wow, was I surprised? Misty Provencher was so creative in the way she spun this tale.
First of all, let’s swoon over Oscar, shall we? Right from the first moment, I couldn’t help but fall in love with him. His loyalty to his family is admirable. However, it was his ability to recognize the level of love he would feel for Hale, right from the get go, that tumbled me all the way in love with him. Oscar is a combination of Smooth and Suave, mixed with just enough alpha to be oh so incredibly sexy. He is so patient with Hale. The moment when he tells her that she is perfect for him and he is waiting for her to see that he is perfect for her…I melted.
Hale is understandably confused and stubborn. She obviously doesn’t believe in the “love” that Oscar envisions as quickly as he does. So much of that stems from the differences in their circumstances growing up. It was nice to see her thaw and start to give in to the feelings that she was developing for Oscar, instead of remaining stubborn until the last page (I hate when an author does that!).
This is a beautiful love story and I’ll read it again and again.

Landon Grace is a stand-up guy, but running about 7-bananas-strong, from tequila shots at Oscar and Hale's wedding reception, what happened between him and Sher Simmons was supposed to be a one time thing. A quickie, between the Best Man and Maid of Honor, at their best friends' wedding.
But some one-night-stands refuse to be finished in one night.
Especially when they return with a hard shot of morning sickness.
Now, Landon is faced with a problem he never thought he'd have to consider...
Just how much sway does a guy really have, regarding a woman's choice to pursue or terminate the pregnancy of his child?

Review

If you haven’t read Hale Maree, I strongly recommend that you do before reading this book.
Landon began endearing himself to me in Hale Maree. He seemed so fun of fun and laughter. I was excited to follow up with him in his own story. Writing the whole book from Landon’s POV was brilliant. His personality was perfect for telling what, at times, was a very heavy story. I loved being inside his head. He is funny, passionate, a little alpha dominate, determined, and loving. His immediate acceptance of the baby and desire to be a father, melted my heart. I ached for him in his fight for that little one. He is the superhero of the story, not only in his pursuit of his child (genetically or not), but his pursuit of Sher, who I didn’t always feel deserved it.
Let me first say, I loved this book. However, it will never top Hale Maree for me. Mostly because Sher really drove me crazy for a lot of the book. First with the giggling, then with her determination to terminate the pregnancy without considering the feelings of Landon. My heart broke for him, and I really want to slap her upside the head. At the same time, they complement each other, and I enjoyed watching them fall in love. I understood her fear of raising a child with the other possible father’s DNA, but I was disappointed that, by the end of the book, she was still unwilling to have faith in Landon’s feelings for her beyond the genetics of the baby. I did eventually come to love her, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t frustrated by her attitude and decisions.
Overall, Sher and Landon are a fun couple, all though Landon is absolutely what sells the book for me. He is dreamy…

~ About Misty ~

Misty Provencher is a long-term wife, mama, and author. The first two are a bit more recent, but Provencher's writing roots date back to the hieroglyphics she left in her mother's womb.

While Provencher can ride a motorcycle, knows how to Karate chop, and has learned enough French, Spanish, and Sign Language to get herself slapped, Misty's life is actually just the ruse she uses to connect with people. She is totally enchanted with them and spends her days trying to translate the soul bouquets of her muses into words.

Misty Provencher lives in the Mitten.
