#Review #Giveaway The Rearranged Life by @AnnikaSharma @InkSlingerPR

The Rearranged Life Synopsis:

Nithya, a vivacious, intelligent and driven college senior has always known what she has wanted: a successful career in medicine and the love of her family. She's even come to terms with the idea of an arranged marriage, a tradition her conservative Indian family has held up for thousands of years.
When a night of partying puts her on a collision course with danger, Nithya's entire life changes.
Enter James St. Clair, the smart, challenging and heartbreakingly handsome American.
As Nithya and James fall in love, she questions the future she and her parents have always planned. Now, Nithya has a choice to make: become a doctor and a good Indian bride, or step away from her family and centuries of culture to forge her own path.
The decision she comes to takes her on a journey that transforms how she sees her future, her relationships with loved ones, and how she learns to put herself back together when even her best-laid plans fall apart

"Go with your gut"....Nithya wasn't raised that way or even to think about herself.  Doing what is necessary for the greater good of her family is what she's always done, maybe now she should go with what's good for her.

This book is Nithyas journey to follow what's best for her.  She's fallen for an American and it's kind of taboo in her culture.  But she's always been the perfect daughter...do what her family wants her to do.  What will she do?

Nithya is the straight A student who has dreams of becoming a doctor.  She's come to terms with what has been expected of her in terms of her future....school, med school and an arranged marriage.  All of that until she meets James St. Clair...

James was perfect.  On paper he's everything you would want.  Smart, good looking, sweet, but he's not Indian.  James gives Nithya butterflies. He tugs at her heartstrings and for some reason even though she barely knows him, she's captivated by him.  As they begin the journey of getting to know one another, she feels at peace.  James is opening her eyes to things she didn't realize she wanted or needed.  He challenges her....she finally starts to see the big picture....live your life for you!

Dating an American would be like a slap to her parents face.  But Nithya can't help who she's falling for.  She keeps their relationship a secret and it weighs on her.  Can she get her parents to see things from her eyes?  From her heart?   Or will they disown her?

I found myself sucked into the beauty of the Indian culture.  The author does an outstanding job giving you visions of the beauty of the culture.  It's unique and all the traditions that are in the culture, this allows you to get glimpses of it.  She introduces the old culture and also how being in America can affect those traditions.  Can Nithya figure out what's best for her or does she follow what's been ingrained in her forever?

If you’re looking for a book that is sexy and steamy, this is not that book.  It's sweet, full of butterflies in the stomach love and is low on angst.   It’s a very emotional read when it comes to the conflict between her and her parents.   The author does a wonderful job not letting you choose who’s right or wrong in this situation.  I want sure who I was rooting for because it's hard when it's your family versus the one you love, especially when neither has done anything wrong.   Great read!  4 Stars
