About Captured By You: In the passionate, gut-wrenching sequel to Amber Hart’s Until You Find Me, Raven and Jospin must fight for each other in a world where love is never safe—and power is deadly. Raven, a college girl from Michigan, came to the jungles of Cameroon searching for closure. Falling for Jospin, a handsome, charismatic hunter with dark secrets of his own, was never part of the plan. But despite their differences, their attraction is addictive, as exhilarating and wild as the rain forest itself—and also as dangerous. For the sake of both their lives, their heated affair must remain a secret. Raven wants justice for her conservationist father’s death; to help her, Jospin must turn his back on his own father and the only life he has ever known. Together they risk being hunted by a band of ruthless poachers, but they take the chance anyway, working to bring down their enemies between each stolen kiss. But when one slip puts Raven’s life at stake, Jospin knows he must act. He has captured Raven’s heart—now can he set her free?

I actually ended up liking this sequel more than the first book. I’m not sure I could tell you why though. The premise for this duology is really interesting and I felt like it was a fresh and new story.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM BOOK ONE

Now that Jospin has sacrifice himself for Raven he is lost and somewhat broken. He has lost his home, his family, his best friend, and even the woman he loves. However, her life is in even more danger. Clovis let Jospin take the fall so that they would not all be killed. In order to do this, he had to claim Raven as his own and bring her back to the compound with him. Now she is directly in the crosshairs of Jospin’s ruthless father, trying to convince him that she is not a threat and keep herself somewhat valuable so that they do not kill her, all while she tries to find evidence that will bring him down.

Jospin and Raven have actually switched places, as he goes to the habitat for help. There is another spy there and he is determined to find out who it is, as well as search for evidence collected by Raven’s father to take down his family and their poaching empire.

Jospin melted my heart in this books. He was definitely attractive in the first book and I loved his sexy, brooding, alpha personality. However, in this sequel, he wears his love for Raven on his sleeve. She is all h wants and all he thinks about. Honestly, as a couple their characters are well matched. But, her stubbornness to finish her father’s mission also breaks his heart a little because all he wants to do is keep her safe. It doesn’t help that he knows her safety is in the hands of the best friend who betrayed him, no matter how noble his intentions were.

Clovis is a really great character. Instead of the writer making him the typical corner of a love triangle, she expounded on his loyalty and not once did Clovis overstep his bounds with Raven. I loved that he didn’t allow himself to think of Raven as anything but a friend because of his love for Jospin.

The author developed the plot and characters well, the construction and depth made the story flow. There are a few gruesome spots but, I suppose they fit the story and give you a better sense of just how much danger they are all in. I feel like the author has definitely done her research because the setting of the rainforest is well crafted and believable. There is a lot of action and it’s pretty well paced, although there were times when I would have liked it to move forward just a little faster.

For me, there was a missing element and it’s hard to say this because I can’t quite put my finger on it. Which I imagine may be frustrating for the author. I enjoyed the book a lot, but I wasn’t gripped by it, turning every page because I can’t stand not knowing what comes next. Raven’s visit home was a little abrupt, it felt like it was just tossed in there, almost like the author had forgotten to close up that storyline and went back and quickly inserted a scene.

The epilogue is really cute a great way to end the book. I would have liked to have seen it go a little further into the future, however that is just my sappy side that always wants to see more of the happily ever after stuff. The book doesn’t need it, it in no way takes away from it, I just would have liked it.

Overall, really great read.
