I gave this one 5 great stars!!
I was hooked on this book from the first chapter. I could not get it read fast enough. I love the action and suspense that Cristin Harber had incorporated into her books. I love the characters and how Cristin threw in some romance with all the suspense. It all made for the perfect balance and a great read in this book!!
Lexi is a young lady that is trapped in a relationship that is not what she had in mind as her ideal relationship. Lexi has let Matt change her into someone that she is not, but she has gone along with it for 2 years and is finally deciding that it is not who she wants to be. Lexi is not sure how she is going to get away from Matt but she knows that she has to do something to save herself. Lexi is also know as Silver Chaos and is considered one of the best in her line of business. Matt has no idea what Lexi really does and always calls her a nerd for being on her computer all the time. Little does he know, Lexi's well written programs are very sought out. Lexi has had a lot of interaction with lots of different people over the years but they never really know each other’s real identities. Lexi is always helping Black Dawn but has no idea who he is in real life. Lexi is about to get the surprise of her life when she figures out who he is and vice versa.
Parker has been around the whole time that Lexi has been with Matt as a friend of Matt's but when Parker walks in on a situation with Matt and Lexi, he can't help but to take action helping Lexi. Parker makes Lexi realize that there are other people out there besides Matt that will treat her better and that there is hope for her getting out of her horrible relationship with Matt. Parker has always been taken back by Lexi's beauty but has never acted on his feelings because he is friends with Matt. When Parker gets a slight hint that Lexi is unhappy, he cannot get his mind off of her. Little does he know who Lexi actually is.
Parker and Lexi's paths keep crossing once she makes the move to leave Matt. Lexi tries to hide from Parker, but he always finds her. I love the way that Parker feels the responsibility to take care of Lexi and does it at all cost. Parker is a swoon worthy Alpha Male that can make you week in the knees. I also love the way that Parker respects Lexi and all that she has been through. Lexi starts to take comfort in Parker almost immediately and knows that there is a special connection between them. The suspense of someone being out to get Lexi just adds to the whole story and how Parker feels the need to protect her even more.
This was a very well written story of action, suspense, romance and all the other feels that you can think of. I love HEA and I am so glad that Lexi got hers in this story. I can't wait to see what Cristin has in store for us as readers in the near future!!
