5* #Review #Excerpt Rip by @RachVD @InkSlingerPR

Pretty things aren't meant to be broken.
But I broke her, and now we both have to pay the price.
I'm her nightmare.
I'm her savior.
And now that I have her signature on an ironclad contract, I own her body and soul.
She doesn't remember me.
She will.
It's inevitable.
Because as much as I know I need to stay away, for fear of unlocking the memories I helped her father bury--I can't.
She was the apple in the Garden, dangled in front of me, her core so tempting and sweet. A voice whispered. Just. One. Bite.
I bit.
I tasted.
I fell.
Welcome to the world of the Russian mafia, where death, is your only future.

5 Amazing Stars!!

Whoa!!! That is all I keep saying in my mind about this book!! I was so not prepared for this one, but OMGoodness!! It was so, so good. Rachel Van Dyken has gone above and beyond on this one!! I ask myself how she was able to come up with all of this and my answer is that she is just awesome and was made to be an Author! Russian Mafia and a huge mind game all in one! I was hooked from page one!

Maya's father is part of the Russian Mafia and has made a deal with Nikolai in exchange for his payment to him. He has offered his daughter, Maya, to be his for a year to do what he wants with. Maya had no idea and when she goes to do an interview of Nikolai, she is kept for Nikolai's pleasure. You might think that it is for his sexual pleasure, but no! It is for anything and everything else that he wants to do with her. Mainly to have her work for him and to assist him in procedures that she wants nothing to do with nor know what really goes on with Nikolai and the girls that he treats.

We do know that Nikolai has had an encounter with Maya before. He was hired to erase Maya's memory through his practice and the way that he does it is very unconventional. I don't want to give too much away about this book because the way that it all unfolds is amazing. Rachel Van Dyken knows just when to throw in another detail that will keep you gasping and turning the pages faster than you thought possible. I love shows that play mind games with you and I so felt that Rachel was doing that with us throughout this book. So very well written and thought out!

When things get to a pivotal point for Maya and Nikolai, will these two be able to turn away from each other to prevent Maya's memories from coming crashing back to her? This is a MUST read! You will thoroughly enjoy it. This one will also get you in the mood for Halloween just around the corner! Thanks Rachel Van Dyken for another awesome read for us readers! You are in a category all your own with this one!!

“You,” I said simply. “It all leads to you. Everything. And I think, for now…” I leaned up, brushing my lips across his. “That’s all that matters.”
“And if I’m the key to both your survival and your destruction, what then?”
“You mean what if your water is poison?” I asked.
He didn’t answer.
“Then I want to drink.”
There were two seconds.
Two brief moments in time.
When I felt my heart race and wondered if it matched his as Nikolai took a steadying breath… then swallowed hard.
One beat against my chest, and his lips were touching mine.
Two beats as my heart picked up speed, and I could feel the heat of his mouth as he slid his tongue across my lower lip.
I moaned in response, reaching around his neck, grasping fistfuls of his hair and tugging as his body moved against mine. Without breaking the kiss, Nikolai found the hem of my cotton T-shirt, lifted it and pulled it over my head, our mouths parting for seconds before, with a sizzle of heat, they met again, and again. Each time our lips grazed it felt new, and yet familiar, like we’d shared hundreds of kisses, thousands of embraces.
He leaned back and helped me to a sitting position, his muscles flexing from holding his own weight. Moonlight shone across the planes of his firm chest. Something about Nikolai’s masculine beauty was lethal, so dangerous that my heart raced even harder. He frowned, pressing his palm to my chest as if trying to calm me down.
I wasn’t safe.
Not in his arms.
