Stolen Innocence Synopsis:
Every master was once a student – every woman was once a
child …
What makes a person forget their entire identity? What makes
them become someone else? What makes them desire pain … control … and
ultimately pleasure? It’s not anything that happens overnight, over even in a
few weeks. Tragedy beyond what a human can possibly imagine will forever alter
Mary’s future.
Mary’s life is boring, conservative and typical. She wants
adventure, thrills and so much more. But she will soon learn to be careful what
to wish for when she’s taken against her will and thrust into the twisted world
of a powerful man who doesn’t care if she lives or dies.
When Mary starts becoming Elena, she does find a savior, but
is he truly the person who will protect her, or will he be the one to escort
her straight into the pits of hell?
Forgetting who she is or where she belongs, she learns she
can trust no one, rely on only herself, and fall further than she ever thought
possible. She will become someone else and the cycle will begin. She will
become the person who will eventually change the life of so many others. Some
might say the change is good, the violence is necessary. And some will cry for
this tragedy that should have been stopped.
Just when you think you know how it all came about, how it
will end, you will be floored again by who can be trusted … and who can’t.

5 stars!
I am trying to come up with the correct words to say about
this book and all that keeps going around in my mind is "Wow"!! Where
do you even begin with a book like this? This story is definitely not for the
faint of heart or even those that are on the edge about it. It is very intense
and very dark! Even with that being said, I found myself not able to put it
down! The way that Melody Anne tells the story of Elena is just fascinating.
When we first meet Mary, aka Elena, she is a young lady that is about to embark on her adventure to college and leave home for the first time. We learn that Mary loves her brother and will do anything for him but could care less about her step-father. Mary's dad dies when she was 8 and no one has been able to fill that void that he left. When Mary goes out one night for a quick walk, she never dreamed that her whole life as she knew it would change.
We follow Mary along on a difficult journey that she is put through against her own will and learn that no one can be trusted where she is taken. The repeated "cleaning", movie watching and repeating what they want her to say leaves Mary thinking that she is Elena and begins to forget about her old life. Why do they want Mary to become Elena? This is all part of their little cult that they have going on at this place.
When the "Master" is in an accident, Elena thinks that just maybe this is her way out. Elena cannot remember anything before she was brought to the Master's house though so where does she even pretend that she wants to go back to? The story line in this book was so well developed and thought out that it was sort of scary to follow Elena on this journey. I wanted to punch the guys that were responsible for "cleaning" her at times and then again I wanted to see Elena through the process to see where it would all lead for her. Such an emotional roller coaster with this one. Very well done though. I can't wait to see what is next in this series for Elena!
