This starts off right where book one left off. Kaleb has been taken and is being held by the Drug Cartel. The torture he endures about breaks him, but his one shining light is Jade. She is consuming his thoughts and is determined to fight for his life. He can't lose her. Just when they start to break down barriers and she accepts he is the one for her, he may lose her and his life in the process. Just when you think things can't get any worse, a curveball is thrown in and will have you saying...WTF! What is the curveball? Can Kaleb survive this?
Jade is fighting...fighting to go back...fighting to not lose her sanity...fighting to not give up. Her heart was left back at that field, as she watched Kaleb being taken. She can't lose him, when she just found him. With determination she won't give up until they go back to rescue him. As hours creep by Jade can't help but become more and more anxious. Will they get to Kaleb in time? Or will Jade lose him forever? Will this be the only obstacle in their lives?
The action of the whole book is unbelievable. You literally feel like you are right there with them. Kathy and Hilary did such a great job with their descriptions of scenes that it made me want to join the Army...okay at least get me one hot military man...LOL. Through the whole book, one thing after another is thrown into the mix. I felt lost just a few times on the timeline. Is this a matter of weeks or days or months? Eventually, I figured it out and honestly it didn't matter much as I was sucked into the whole drama of the story.
The chemistry between these two jumps off the pages. I seriously was fanning myself a few times saying “Oh lord” Kaleb is seriously dirty. I loved how both wanted to take control in the bedroom, but eventually Jade surrender to Kaleb. He wanted to open her up, make her feel the intensity she made him feel...it was HOT! The connection between them is only made stronger by the situations they find themselves in. What I loved most was they communicate, at times it didn't seem that way, but in the end they did. The push and pull of these two characters will have you chuckling a few times or at least smiling. Jade is such a badass and Kaleb is totally alpha male.
The supporting characters I want more of them…I can't wait for Harris' story. I can see something in him and know its going to be both sexy and funny. I hope we get stories about the other guys because they have me intrigued, especially Jackson…Action Jackson!

Love, a word never on my radar, has now taken over my existence. My world revolves around this man.
I’m in love with him because of the deep connection I felt the second I saw him and dealing with the torture of this week has only intensified my feelings. My mind went crazy, thinking of everything he went through, as I examined all of the marks on his body. I can tell he was whipped many times. The wounds are starting to heal, but I’m afraid the surface scars will always be there. And I don’t even want to think about the internal scars something like this would bring.
I don’t care what he looks like or how much this will torment him. He takes me and I take him just the way he is.
