I have
loved everything I have ever read by Aurora Rose Reynolds. She is definitely
one of my favorite authors. When I heard her say that she almost wrote this
under a pen name, because it was so different that her normal style, I was a
little wary. I should have known better! I still love everything she writes!
I agree
that Justified steps away from her typical hero, but not too much. This book
lends itself to a slightly darker side. Nolan’s fixation on Chloe is an
obsession. The funny thing is, he knows it, admits that it might be unhealthy,
and just doesn’t give a damn. However, that obsession includes an absolute need
to make her happy and keep her safe. He so in love with her, it consumes him.
It amplifies his possessiveness and alpha traits. I can see where people would fear the
direction of this personality type. The difference is, in my opinion, is Chloe’s
reaction to his depth of emotion and need. She clearly loves him, adores him,
and wants to make him happy as well. So while you might not put up with Nolan’s
actions, Chloe doesn’t mind them. At the same time, she doesn’t just roll over
like a doormat either. When she feels the need, she does stand up to him. They
are soft and hard, and come together in an explosion of passion and love.
There are
steamy, delicious love scenes, tender and romantic moments, and enough suspense
to keep you glued to the pages. Nolan is HOT, HOT, HOT! Chloe is sweet and
likeable. I would absolutely want her as a friend.
My one and
only complaint about this story is that it was too short! I wanted more of
these two. I would have absolutely loved for this to have been a full length novel.
However, I was excited to see that this will be part of a series. I’ll just
have to go back and re-read this, and all of her other books while I wait for
her next 1-click read!!

“Get
up,” I tell Chloe as I walk into the bedroom.
“For what?” she asks, looking at me from over the top of her
Kindle,
not moving.
“You’re not going to lie around and pout all day. Now, get up.”
“I’m
not pouting.” She frowns.
I
shake my head, walk over to her, rip the Kindle out of her hand, and toss it
onto a chair across the room.
“Hey!
I was reading that,” she complains, crossing her arms over her chest and
glaring at me.
“I
don’t know what happened to my submissive little Angel, but I’m telling you
now—what you’re going to be doing is getting undressed, getting on your knees,
opening that pretty mouth of yours, and sucking my cock until I tell you to
stop. Then, if you’re good, I will eat your little pussy until you come,” I
growl, pulling her out of bed. “When I’ve had my fill of your taste, you’re
going to climb up on my cock and ride me until we both come.”
